“Lovely riverside location, wonderful food.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2014

Visited just because it was on the riverside, dropped in for a drink only. Once seated with a decent bottle of wine, decided to eat. The Menu was a surprise, much more than could be expected from a busy Pub. A good choice of interesting and varied dishes. Dined al fresco on one of the best meals ever ! There is an indoor Restaurant too. The Food and wine were reasonably priced, the young staff all well motivated and very helpful.

The food fresh and very well presented. Although very busy we did not have to wait too long for our order to be served.

Don't be put off by the crowds, this place is always busy in summer, it's lively and one could be forgiven for thinking 'it's just another busy pub' but make no mistake, none of the usual pup fare here..............it's all top quality

“Such a choice of food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 20, 2014

The food is so varied at the Saracens head that it is sometimes difficult to choose. But you won't be disappointed whatever you select. Cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. Eat in or out with NO pressure to move you on.

“A little paradise!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2014

We stayed at the Saracens Head for three nights and absolutely loved it. The food , staff and service were exceptional and the location is unique and very beautiful. We walked for miles, climbed up the Yat Rock and spent happy hours sitting outside the inn enjoying the food and drink and the views across and down the river. Cannot recommend highly enough. Breakfast and all meals were amazing and lots of choices with a gourmet touch. Foodies will love it. Do go to this little hidden paradise. It is perfect for a short break. Luxury at an affordable price.

“Good food and an amazing place.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2014

This place serves accomplished basic 'gastro pub' food. It is well presented and the portions are very generous. We had the Burgers and fries which were hard to finish off because of the size of the portions. The burgers were well-flavoured with a hint of onion and served in a Brioche bun. The only 'downer' I had on it was the tomato and onion relish seemed overly sweet - this with the faintly sweet Brioche bun was too much. Anyway, you are not confined to burgers here, the menu is as long as your arm and just about everything looks pretty good. The guy next to us had the Thai fish curry and the smell coming from it was amazing, and it looked pretty huge. This place is at the end of a road next to a landing stage on the river Wye, boat trips for the faint-hearted or canoeing for the braver (and fitter). It has an amazing aspect, a tremendous pub view. They also do accommodation. You'd want 7 days just to work your way through the menu. My advice would be to get here early if you want a parking space, there is a car park outside the pub (small) and a larger one just next to it, but even that is not very big.
