We ate there twice - very impressed with the food, value for money. Great customer service. Lovely setting. Would recommend the sirloin steak and the fish platter.

We booked a table here last night thinking it looked very nice when we spotted it a couple of months ago, we were surprised to get in!. Boy we were not disappointed, the starter of carrot and Coriander soup was served with the most delicious bread I have ever had with real tasty butter too and the soup home made and very tasty. We both went for the Roast beef dinner which came with a huge home made yorkshire pud and all served hot and tasty too ( only thing we didn't like were the pale boring looking parsnips, and we both like parsnips too!). I must say all of the food I saw coming out of the kitchen looked wonderful I could have eaten it all !! The service was very friendly and we had a nice big table( No 4) for two of us. I can"t wait to go back and it was worth the drive from Cardiff just for lunch. Thank you Saracens.

Very well situated. Slightly pleased with itself but that is easily counterbalanced by the friendly bustling efficiency and helpfulness of the staff. Our food was very tasty, well presented and good value. We were under no pressure to vacate our table and had a delightful entirely relaxed several hours.

We were in Symond's Yat on a fishing weekend (previously reviewed) and we had dinner in the Saracen's head on two evenings as it was in close walking distance to the Fairview Guest House where we stayed.

The food was excellent and extremely good value for money. The service was first-class with very cheery waiters and waitresses who were extremely pleasant and helpful.

The location which is right on the bank of the river Wye is just wonderful with lovely views both up and down the river and lots of activity and interest.
