“Good burgers and a nice beer garden”
Reviewed May 28, 2013 via mobile

Popped in for lunch on a beautifully sunny bank holiday and enjoyed a lovely lunch out in the beer garden with the dogs. Top notch!

“A charming pub with very good food”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

We visited this pub for the first time on Sunday after seeing a recommendation in a magazine, it is a lovely pub with good outside seating area, for outside dining, weather permitting. The staff are very friendly and efficient we just managed to get a table. The menu is very varied lots of fish on the specials board l0 out of 10 for healthy eating and also a very good varied menu. The food was very good indeed we will definitely return, next time bringing some friends.

“Great pub, great food, lovely people!”
Reviewed May 15, 2013

My wife & I have been coming to the Wheel since the new owners took over 5 1/2 years ago and have NEVER, NEVER had a bad experience! From "special" birthday experiences to New Year's Eve parties to "let's go out for a meal", it's always been good, very good. There's a terrific choice off the main menu and ALWAYS a big choice from the "specials", especially fish! Meat etc. is sourced locall so another good point.
There is quite a change over of staff but the regulars keep things under control.
We've taken relatives from California to a number of restaurants in the area and, now, when they come over, they always want to go to the Wheel.
We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the Wheel to anyone!
ENJOY!

“Small cosy pub with restaurant quality food”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

To give the Chef a chance we booked for 12 people at 6pm. Our orders were taken within 10 mins. of being seated. Considering most orderred different foods, all the starters, mains and puds came together and all on hot plates. Nice portions of food with one person taking home a 'doggy bag'. As well as the menu the specials board had an extra five starters and 12 main meals. Vegetarians have a choice of 4 main meals, unusual for most 'pubs'. The service by the staff, especialy the waitress with the pig tails, was quick & polite. The atmosphere is enjoyable with out any loud music. The cutlery etc was clean. There is a seated area to meet and greet and a few tables in the bar you can eat at, but it is much nicer to book a table up stairs. If you are a large group book earlier in the evening and have the chefs attention. We have eaten at the wheel a few times and have always enjoyed the food and choice of menu.

“An enjoyable experience”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

We have visited the Wheel Inn on several occasions and have been very fortunate to always get a table after a few minutes, the staff are first class and the food is even better. As you walk in you are greeted by walkers with muddy boots, well dressed ladies out to lunch, families with friends, and the odd romantic interlopers. Such an eclectic mix of people to sample such an eclectic mix of food. The specials board is great at anytime, fantastic menus and good portion sizes.
