La Manga is essentially a 22-km strip of sand between the Med and the Mar Menor: over-developed, tatty and in places very smelly. However, there are great beaches on both sides, and in high season quite a lot going on. On our way to a boat trip at Pedruchillo (km 9 on the strip), we discovered this great restaurant overlooking the Mar Menor: it's a lounge bar, restaurant and terrace, open all day long, and eating a great meal as the sun goes down beyond the water is an unforgettable experience. Cuisine is standard Spanish with some French touches: service excellent, food very good, evening meal on terrace superb. Spotlessly clean, and a great location for a daytime coffee or an evening cocktail. Prices very reasonable, given the superb location.
