“Fantastic for the price”
Reviewed November 1, 2013

Ok so the decor of the rooms is pretty basic even though they are a great size. But what's great about this hotel is its location (such amazing views), the staff (who are so friendly and helpful) and the food. The restaurant is also pretty basic in terms of how it looks and it can feel a bit like a cafeteria when its busy but the food is of really great quality. We were on half board and had two great meals with everything cooked to a much higher standard than is normal for a buffet and lots of things (fish, kebabs etc) cooked fresh to order. The paella was amazing too which you wouldn't expect in this type of environment. Breakfast had eveyrthing you could possibly want including free cava to make bucks fizz and all with that wonderful wonderful view. The bar area outside is fantastic with really great service from the guys who workt here. The staff in the indoor bar are nice too but the lighting is so harsh its not a very relaxing place to sit despite having nice soft seating and the most modern decor of anywhere in the hotel. The area close by would be great in the season - its still nice with a handful of interesting shops and some bars and restaurants but in October it is very very very quiet!

We spent a very relaxing week at the Hotel Galua from 12th to 19th October 2013.

We were very impressed with the hotel, it's staff, the location, the food and the stunning panoramic view from our room. There are some cosmetic issues but we are sure these will be dealt with during the winter closure. The hotel management were on the ball and visible throughout our stay.

As it was near the end of the season the hotel and surrounding area were very quiet and we were pleased that we had booked Full board on this occasion. We feel it was great value for money, the weather was excellent and we would not hesitate to return.

This is our second visit to a Servigroup hotel, the previous visit being the Castillo in Benidorm and we look forward to spending time in either these or another of the group in the near future.

If you enjoy a relaxing break, then a visit to this area and this hotel would be an excellent choice.

Room Tip: We had a panoramic view on the 4th floor and it was spectacular. Waking up to the sunrise whilst la...

Me and my other half (age 29&31) went to Galua hotel from 12/10/13-14/10/13 to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we had the best time ever! We arrived on Saturday midday and were given a room 415 which has a stunning view. You can see the mediterranean sea and Mar Menor, mountains and even the light house. You can see the sunrise and sunset from the balcony, breathtaking view! We went there on half board basis, had breakfast buffet with nice variety of food, juices, coffee and cava included.Dinner had a great choice of food, including lovely fresh fish and seafood, no drinks included but could purchase them from there. On Saturday evening they had live music at the hotel which we quite enjoyed.
We spent day time on the beach next to the hotel, and as it was no longer busy season there, the beach was quite empty, just what you wish when away celebrating wedding anniversary. The water was pretty warm for mid October and temp. outside around C26, just perfect; not too hot and not too cold! The water was so clear, we took some brilliant underwater pictures with pretty fishes and sea urchins.
We had some drinks in the nearby bar which is run by Manolo, very friendly guy and his team.Overall, the people in La Manga are very friendly and welcoming. We also bought some little drinks and snacks for our lunch from the nearby Spar where the prices are very good.(Please note that there is a siesta time between 2pm-5pm and most of the hotel nearby shops are closed during these hours but then they are open until very late in the evening.)
The hotel staff was very polite and helpful, we couldn't open our balcony door on the last morning, the lock had broken, but as soon as we called reception to explain the problem, 3 minutes later the handyman was knocking on our door and fixed the door very quickly.
Our flight back was in the late evening and the hotel gave us late check-out for 3pm without any extra charges.
Servigroup Galua has the best location in La Manga and the hotel is clean, modern with gorgeous views!!Nothing bad to say at all!!
We would advise people to rent a car as getting to La Manga might be a bit complicated by public transport. We went for an adventure this time and took a taxi at the airport and went up till Santiago de la Ribera which is only 3 mins ride away. Then from Santiago de la Ribera we took a ferry (4 euros a ticket) to La Manga and then there are buses going up and down La Manga Strip.
P.s.-We are planning to go back to this place for more days next year!

Hotel lounge/ bar very trendy but dining room needs a bit up-dating. Rooms were great - panoramic view rooms were exceptional although a little noisy at night as they are so close to the sea. Very clean hotel staffed with polite and friendly people.
At the height of season I suspect there wouldn't be sufficient sunbeds or even outdoor space for the number of potential guests.
Quiet at this time of year as it's obviously the end of the season and no night time entertainment.
Location great but we found a hire car to be essential.

Room Tip: All rooms seemed to have a sea view. We paid extra for a panoramic view, but we probably wouldn'...

My husband and I stayed here last week for 4 nights. I can't really add anything more to the previous reviews. Hotel is great: clean, modern and super value for money. We had a spacious room with a gorgeous view from our balcony. The room didn't have tea or coffee making facilities but did have a mini fridge which was handy for bottled water.
We stayed half board which consisted of breakfast and lunch or dinner which ever took your fancy. All meals are buffet style, with lots of salads, fresh fruit and desserts! The staff throughout the hotel were fantastic. Due to a delayed flight we didn't arrive until 9 pm but it wasn't a problem. The restaurant and bar staff took pride in their work and were very friendly and efficient. The pool is quiet large and the whole area was very clean with plenty of sun loungers. They also have secure direct access to the beach.

The only "downside" is the general area. As mentioned by other reviewers the area around the hotel isn't very inspiring. Being october most restaurants and shops were closed. It didn't bother us but if you are staying for a longer period of time you probably do need a car to get out and about.

The whole point of our break was to relax, enjoy the weather and recharge our batteries. At Galua we certainly managed to do that and hope to return again next year.

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side have the sun all day. Rooms on the north have no sun at all.

We had a fabulous week at the Galua . We stayed full board, the staff , food and accommodation were all excellent. The hotel and surrounding area were very quiet which
suited us fine. A very pleasant week and we will return next September.

Room Tip: Try to avoid the first two floors, you may get a better view of the car park than the Med.
