“Don't judge a book by its cover - poor exterior but great food”
Reviewed October 10, 2009

Not imposing from the outside and not a typical vacation restaurant but all the locals eat there and that's always a good recommendation. the El caprichio was closed the day we visited Comillas but a taxi driver said to try the Filipas and we were really glad we did. Very busy and a typical local restaurant with workmen and office workers sitting side by side. We went for the Menu Del Dia - a very reasonable 15 euros which included 3 courses, wine, bread and water. Not cordon blue but plenty of eat with fantastic flavours - forget any pretensions and go for the wonderful food.

“open all year round in this beautiful fishing village”
Reviewed September 21, 2009

Now I may be biased as my father is from here but I go every year cause I love it. the twon itself is full or historical features and cobled streets, witht eh main twon square with the restaurants spilling out onto the roads in friednly competition. The best restaurant in town is the Fillipinas (got the name wrong on here!). Its one fo the only restaurants that is open all year round i.e. out of season others close down - frequented by the locals what else can you say - run by male twins, stop in for a plato combinado (combined plate) and mix lomo with freshly fried chips, add an egg, have the steaks with chips and fresh red peppers- these are my favourites - or go for one of the other plates on teh varied menu - a trip to Comillas won't be the same without a stop here!! Enjoy
