We stayed her 14-21st October 2011 and booked through the thomson website which was all quite easy. (2 adults and 6 year old son). The hotel is clean and welcoming with 2 large bars on the groung floor and the resturant on the 1st floor. There are 3 lifts.

The rooms are fairly basic and cosy! but we did not spend much time in there and when we were in there getting changed etc, my son was kept amused by the tv which has bbc1, bbc 2, cbeebies, channel 5 and itv. There were also spanish chanels with english programs with spanish subtitles. We had no trouble with any noise disturbance from the hotel or other rooms - we were in room 436 at the back of the hotel on the 4th floor.
The food was good quite a bit of variaty and a separate kids buffet. I did struggle abit as a vegatarian but that is usual when abroad so did not bother me.
The pool area is good with plenty of beds but i agree with some of the other reviews that in peak season you would be packed in like sardines and it would be un-barable.
The beach infront of the hotel is great, and there is shallow water with no rocks out for quite away, my son loved it. There are life guards dotted across the beach which makes you feel quite safe.
Santo tomas is quite small and quite a few of the hotels had already shut down for the winter including the one next door. There are a few small shops enough to get what you need on all inclusive but its expensive and i would not recommend going self catering there.
My son attended the kids club at the hotel a few times and liked it, the staff are nice and they are well set up signing kids in and out and locking the door after you, they also take your room number and mobile phone number.
We did the walk to son bou across the cliffs one morning when it was cloudy - The first 20 minutes are quite nice walking along the cliff then across some fields along the path, the next 40 minutes are across the sand dunes on a track made of very soft dry sand which seems to go on for ever! and when we got there most of the place was shut.......( If you tink you may get a taxi back apparently its 24 euros). We were glad we went and did walk as we have some lovely photos of the view but would not do it again. Apparently its just under 7 miles there and back.
We went to mahon on the bus from outside the hotel it was 3.05 euro each, each way. Was quite nice we looked around the market, went on the little train and had a look round the shops. If your looking for free wi-fi while your there, buger king is right by the market and they advertise it in the window. The bus was on time each way ........ unlike the day we decided to go to citudella and it never arrived at all!
Anyway we had a lovely time and would definatly go back but NOT in peak season as the out door areas are just to small for a full hotel and the beach is quite narrow.

Room Tip: I think the hotels at the back are quieter.

We came back from this hotel and was a little worried going because of some of the reviews but have to say we had a wonderful holiday. The hotel i would say is definately a 3 Star NOT a 4 as advertised by Thomson but we did have a great time. Our room was small and on the ground floor with a view of the flat roof and a small view of the sea but hey thats life. The food was a little samey samey but there was always loads of salad and fruit on offer so couldn't complain. The hotel staff were great and the thomson staff exceptional. My daughter who is 2 made loads of friends, loved the T-Time live shows and enjoyed every second. I think in the end you get what you pay for - we couldn't have stayed in a UK hotel with all the activities on offer that they had there for any less and here we had gorgeous weather and a lovely beach a 2 min walk away. The only thing that let it down was that the town was so small with nothing to do so you where stuck in the hotel unless you hired a car. We did hire a car for 4 days and had a wonderful time exploring. I would recommend this hotel definitely just know that it basic but we always thought very clean and the staff were great. Hope you go and enjoy xxx

In no way am I a snob or over critical in the slightest, but this is a completely honest review.

We (myself, my Mum and my 4 year old Son) have just returned early 17/10/11 - (at a cost of 284 pounds!) as we couldn't stand to be in this hotel any longer. Cowardly though, we used an excuse of needing to get home for family reasons as didn't want the hassle from Thomson reps or the hotel itself to offer us a new room or to sort the problems out- would be far too complicated!

Where to start..
The splash pool is brilliant for young children- BUT it is not manned, as with any of the pools, by a lifeguard or any staff for that matter. You get the horrible older children pushing and not taking any care to look out for the youngsters. They would also go down the slide with their lilos and on more than one occasion knocked my Son clean off his feet. We told the children to 'Watch out' and 'Be careful' to be greeted with a torrent of abuse! We then mentioned it to one of the reps who said they would speak to them (they didn't) and asked us not to say anything to the children?!! Ridiculous.
The majority of parents weren't even watching their kids as it seemed chain smoking, drinking alcohol and sunbathing were top of their priorities!

The playground was great for children but yet again parents weren't watching their older children so the young kids were being pushed aside and trying to copy the older ones climbing on top of the slide (very high!) we took my Son away on numerous occasions!

The room.. the most basic of rooms. We had one double and a single, NO fridge (unless you paid), NO tea/coffee?kettle (you need this! explained below), a tv on the wall was fine- limited channels, and in general very small.

The food.. where do I start. AWFUL.
Foods that don't go together, recycled all the time and I heard numerous people complain of stomach upsets. If you like pasta, bolognaise sauce and chips every lunch then you are onto a winner! The meat wasn't meat it was substituted muck.

My biggest bugbear was the fact we went for the 'All Inclusive' package. This was NOT all inclusive at all. Strict timings on Breakfast, Lunch and Tea, and say for instance you went for your breakfast at 8.30am- finished by 9am, you cannot even get a drink (unless you pay for it) til 11am! Sandwiches & Icecreams at strict times - The icecream wasnt proper icecream, just frozen mousses!
The coffee machine.. AVOID! On 3 seperate occasions I had a latte and there was ants in my drink! The first time I thought maybe I had left it on the floor by the pool so they may have climbed in, second time I thought maybe they were in the paper cup before I drank it, third time I specifically had it made, I checked the cup, covered it, carried to my room and lo and behold had a sip and a mouthful of ants.

The entertainment I cannot comment about as we were in our rooms straight after dinner.

The rep we spoke to who sorted out our flights was brilliant, and the Thomson team seemed fine, so no complaints there.

Beach was fine (although I suffered a nasty allergic reaction to the sand! Noones fault though!)

Santo Tomas is ridiculously quiet, so don't expect to find anything to do in the town.

All I can say is thank god their was a supermarket so we could buy our own food- although being All Inclusive I didn't expect to have to pay for food so had to go and withdraw cash from a restaurant down the rood.

Very, very dissapointed in this holiday. Turned out extremley expensive and most definatley not worth it.

Definatley not for anyone who hasn't got children.

Stayed here from the 8 oct-15 oct, Arrived on the saturday mid morning, check in was good, lady behind the reception desk was very friendly. Receptionist informed us of our room number and gave information on meal times. When we arrived at our room 411 we were toatly surprised as it was on the end with both sea and pool view, we also were shocked at the size as it was a family room just for the two of us. The room and furnishings were both spotlessly clean. We had no problems with ants, we did not see one in our room at all.

We found the meals to be of good quality and choice, you could always find something to eat, the dining room staff were always friendly and greeted you with a smile.

The bar staff were the same, we found the drink choice good on the all inclusive deal.

The pool area is great for children and adults, you could always get a sun lounger at any time as the hotel was not over crowded.

The reps were always on hand with entertainment if you wanted to join in, the evening shows were okay as well.

The area was very quiet, with only a few walks to do, but we went for a rest so we got what we wanted.

The beach is lovely with soft sand and a nice walk to be had along to the other end.The walk over the cliffs to son bou is long, but that too is a enjoyable walk.

Thank you Victoria Playa, we had a fab time.

Room Tip: Ask for high floor pool or sea view, our room 411 was excellant, very large balcony full width of ro...

Myself, husband, 3 year old daughter and 1 and a half year old daughter stayed at the Victoria Playa from 26 Sept for 11 nights. The holiday was booked through Thomson as we wanted a package holiday because we were travelling with children.
The holiday was absolutely fantastic! The main reason that we enjoyed the holiday so much was due to the fabulous kids club reps and entertainment team. Our daughter Freya loved the crèche due to the lovely Sophie and Shauna who I felt 100% comfortable leaving my 1 and a half year old with. Dora the explorer and mish mash ash in kids club were also fantastic and our 3 year old Annabel adored them and still asks for them now a week after we got home. Thanks guys!
The hotel itself was spotless, the food delicious and the drinks on tap - what more do you need?

Just a note of caution - the hotel was just at a nice capacity at end of September, there is no way I would visit this hotel in school holidays because it would be absolute carnage!

Room Tip: Book last minute!

We visited here in september travelling with thomson holidays, we'd usually book interconnecting rooms but thomson have slammed a hefty charge for this now, but the lovely man on the reception re-jigged our room n gave us an interconnecting room with no extra charge, shame on thomsons for charging for this!
ok.....the resort, beautiful, clean but there is nothing there apart from a lovely beach and a handful of shops this is not a lively resort by any means!
Onto the hotel, great staff in the hotel/restaraunt they really were sooooo friendly, the same cannot be said for all the thomson reps. a few of the kids reps looked down right miserable, looked to struggle with positive interaction with the children and it beggers belief why they do the job, big praise though to greg, andy, jess and a few of the others who made up for the poor effort of the other staff. the night entertainment rather lame at times.
The food was fantastic, very tasty and the drinks selection great also, the bedroom we had was small but clean, apart from lots of ants everywhere , even in our beds!
the pool scene is fab and the beach a stones throw away perfect for those happy to just do that.
In a nut shell lovely hotel, good points/bad points, for us the resort was beautiful but just too boring
