We stayed here in May for 3 nights on a self catering bargain break.
The outside of the hotel looks a tad dated (circa 1970s) but on arrival we found the reception area to be modern, clean and airy. We were informed that as the hotel was relatively quiet, we could have an upgraded room! Sadly it did not overlook the sea but equally it didn't overlook a busy road.

The room itself was very clean, with a large balcony - unfortunately there was an unpleasant smell that frequently wafted through the drain on the balcony, although nothing can really be done about that, bar an overhaul of the Spanish sewage system!

Plenty of sunloungers were available as it wasn't the height of the season - pool area was clean and hosed down each evening.

It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the local marina and town where you can find plenty of bars and restaurants, do remember though that our Mediterranean cousins eat much later on in the evening so the eateries don't come alive until gone 8.30pm!

The mini-mart opposite the hotel is reasonably priced - we popped in for breakfast pastries and papers, beer and snacks. You will find cheaper places in the town but again you're looking at a 15 minute walk.

Tip: If you walk out of the hotel and turn right and walk along the road for about 10 mins you'll reach a nice little beach bar called Mango's (near the Grupotel, if memory serves me correctly). We only had drinks there but the view was lovely - very relaxing!

Six of us (4 adults and 2 children aged 4& 2) stayed in 2 separate 1-bed apartments at hotel for 1 week on fully inclusive basis, which we would recommend because the food and drink in the bars and restaurants are expensive. The reception staff were very helpful. The hotel and restaurant were very clean and the food was fine: - if a little repetitive.

The apartment had a large twin bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and lounge with sofa and chairs, and a large balcony with table and chairs. It also had a safe in the bedroom which cost about 18 euros a week to hire. You can also hire pool towels, kettles and toaster etc.

The hotel is a short walk from the marina and the promenade where the beaches are. All in all we all had a very good holiday and would happily go back again to Santa Eulalia and the Tropic Garden Hotel.

Tip: Try Mangos beach bar which is a 10-minute walk from the hotel. To get there come out of the hotel, turn right and it is at the bottom of the road next to The Grupotel hotel.

We're just back from a 10 night stay at the Tropic Garden and it was excellent. Hotel is 5 min walk from the marina (drool at sunseekers) and a further couple of mins into the shops/restaurants of Santa Eulalia. It is a beautiful resort, very classy (no football shirts in sight!) full of older couples and young families. We travelled with our 2 boys aged 2 and 4 and the hotel was perfect. One bedded room was set up for our arrival so the 2 sofa beds in the living room were made up as beds. One was slightly smaller and the design of it meant there was a kind of built in bed guard, perfect for our younger son. Hotel is incredibly clean. Food was execllent, loads of choice at every meal and empty dishes were replaced so quickly, the staff worked hard. Only small criticism was lack of choice for young kids (esp as mine now at the fussy stage) so mostly pasta and bolognese sauce/bread for them but they didnt complain once. Pool was EXCELLENT, gradual shallow end where at the kids accumulated and another deeper side where adults can swim in peace. LOADS of sunloungers and a pool man that goes around bagging towels that have been left with no one on them so dont waste your time trying to reserve them at 8am! Pool set in beautiful gardens too with olive trees, lavender, very pretty. Entertainment provided by a team that work their absolute socks off - they start 10.30am with kids club, adults sports and work right through to the evening show. They provide a show every 2nd night, mostly miming to music in their own little stage production but its very funny and the kids love it. There was also a parrot show (bit lame), reptile show (good, i touched a snake!) and a magic show (excellent). All quiet by 11.30 latest so our kids stayed up (they slept before dinner). Mixed bag of nationalities in the hotel which i liked, a lot of Spanish plus German/Brits but all staff spoke English well. We booked half board but found ourselves spending 20euros on lunch then again on drinks at night so upgraded to All Inclusive for 4 nights which was more economical. Exchange rate is awful just now so Ibiza was EXPENSIVE but its our annual holiday so what the hell....

Room Tip: Get a pool view (no extra charge) as it also looks onto stage for evening entertainment.

Have just returned from a weeks stay on self catering basis at Tropic Gardens - did not disappoint even though this is my third stay in the last four years - they are updating the hotel at present - new furniture in the public areas downstairs. The whole place is very clean and tidy.

Enjoyed eating at Cafe Sidney which overlooks the marina in Santa Eulalia - food good and lovely location.

If you want a quiet holiday in a nice location this would be a good choice.

Evening entertainment is not great but is ok - mostly it is the entertainment team and children seem to enjoy it.

We went as a family with grown up children and had a great holiday. Bedroom was large - living room adequate. Balcony was the biggest ive ever seen. We had 3 people in our room so rented an extra room key for 5 euros which was refunded at the end of our fortnight. No mad dash for sunbeds just the parasols but they brought more out during our stay. Pool was very deep if you are a basic swimmer and steps out of it creaked and groaned so the world knew when you were getting out - not so good for us larger ladies ! The entertainment team were brilliant with the adults if you just joined in !!!!!!!! - many folk ignoring them when they came to ask - congrats to antonio, david and tim who worked their socks off. We joined in everything and only a couple of Germans and dutch joined - yes they are competative but good fun when you chat to them. Previous report complained about people loud around the pool - all i saw were people enjoying and having a laugh - after all it is a holiday and we are not dead yet - until this happened the poolside was like gods waiting room ! The evening entertainment was outside and there were plenty of tables to go around - the team practised on and off all day and the shows were very good - the lion king was superb. Yes there were quite a lot of small children there but they were well behaved.
Food was good although repetative like any all inclusive but tables cleared immediately and usually with a smile. Only once had to wait for a table for 5 and that was for 5 mins. Most times walked into restaurant and found our own.
If you like it quiet DONT ask for a pool view cos the ground floor rooms have people sunbathing next to them. There is a leaflet in the room asking what time you want the maid to come so as not to wake sleeping children - we didnt fill it in so she came after 10 but before lunch. Very trustworthy - bits left around and nothing touched.
Biggest bugbear was no thomson rep in hotel which i am taking up with them at the moment but Thomas cook rep was very helpful and sold us tickets for the water park and gave us useful local info.Reception staff not too helpful - fed up with questions that should have been answered by rep !
Pool bar busy but food cooked to order so no complaints with waiting for freshly cooked snacks. Make sure you ask for milk in your tea and coffee or you get none.
We were a group of 5 and unless pre booked taxis will only take 4 - this would have been too expensive so walked into town and caught buses - very cheap and reliable. Went io ibiza town for 1.85 euros and back at 2 in the morning for 3 euros - bargain - each taxi wanted 20 euros one way. Drinks there very expensive but the sights in the night were unmissable - street dancers, etc
Boat ride to es cana market on a wednesday was great - very crowded but street entertainment there as well as stalls= theres a pub just outside the market that advertises pick up and drop off point for hubbies that dont want to shop - british run and sells Koppaberg.
We would stay again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: Pool view rooms are noisy. room 1123 overlooks pedestrian walkway to sea and private apartment bloc...

The Tropic Garden is a nice hotel, very clean, food very good although not much variation. The hotel is going through a bit of a refurbishment in reception area & round pool bar which is looking lovely. The rooms do let it down though although very clean they are in need of doing up.The shower was faulty kept going off then came back on red hot!We did report it but it wasnt any better. The hotel is catered towards families, the entertainment team are brilliant with the kids. The entertainment we didnt see much of as we went into town every night but the bit we did see was ok.If you like using the gym the one here is unusable apart from a couple of exercise bikes, some of the machines are actually falling apart so this does need addressing. The location is a 15 min walk to the marina which is lovely & so is the beach which is about 10 mins further on.The reception staff were very good, when we arrived the bus driver had left our cases on the roadside of another hotel & the girl on reception came out & tried to help us, which was just aswell as if you go with Thomson be warned there is no Rep at this hotel. We had to ring the emergency number several times on my mobile to try & sort this out & were without the cases most of the afternoon,we were lucky they werent stolen. Not the hotels fault they couldnt have been nicer.I would definately recommend this hotel, especially if you have kids, the all inclusive is great value, would be quite pricey if not.The pool is very large & impressive. All in all a great holiday we would definately go back.

Stayed at Hotel on fully inclusive basis. Hotel was spotless, staff very attentive to any untidiness left by guests. Reception staff helpful with enquiries regarding local services. Bar / Pool bar staff always available to serve you with free drinks, without limitation. Restaurant very clean and tidy, food presenation was excellent, choice of food very good, could not fault it. Chefs in attendance at all times, constantly refreshing and replenishing food. Waiters and waitresses dressing and clearing tables propmtly. Grounds and pool setting very nice. Room - we had an appartment even though we were fully inclusive, giving us a large twin bedroom, wc and bathroom, kitchen and lounge with sofa and chair, with large balcony with table and chairs, safe in room. Only comment here would be limited wardrobe space. Entertainment staff tried hard to encourage involvement with activities and some evening entertainment provided. Hotel short walk from marina which takes you along the long promenade stretching the whole of front and beach area. Much appreciated to stretch legs after a lazy day and evening meal. Eating out, plenty of cafes and restaurants, all seemed quite during our stay. Local buses very easy to use and kept to timetable, Es Cana and Ibiza town worth a visit. Used supermarket next door for small items and newspapers.
All in all very good holiday and would happily recommend this hotel.
