“Great value, fantastic location, very friendly and helpful staff”
Reviewed June 29, 2010

Stayed at the hotel from 19th to 26th of June this year, perfect weather all week.
I booked via the Solmelia website and requested a specific room which we eventually got due to a late check out from the previous residents. As we arrived early, we were given another room whilst ours was cleaned and prepared which was a nice touch, and really appreciated. The staff throughout could not do enough for you which was great, restaurant and food all good, a good choice always available. Everywhere was clean and spotless throughout. A fairly high proportion of middle aged couples staying whilst we were there, all very easy going and friendly with a full mix of nationalities, although predominately British and Spanish.
As far as location goes, just a 10 minute walk to the marina/beach in Santa Eulalia, the resort very clean and friendly with good shops and restaurants.
We used public transport which is cheap and reliable as well as the water taxis to Cala Longa/Es Cana, all reccommended.
All in all, ideal, would recommend for 30+ age group in particular.

We had a lovely 10 days at the Sol. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and efficient. We were impressed with the variety of food available, but bear in mind that the Spaniards love their meat so vegetarian dishes are few. We stayed half-board and although we were worried that meal times would be regimented the restaurant opening times did not tie us to the hotel. The desserts were to die for and we sampled every one of them! We had a room overlooking the sea, what a fantastic view and for the most part the sea was like a mill pond. The room was comfortable and it was a bonus to have access to a safe without extra cost. Cleanliness could not be faulted and the staff worked hard to keep it that way. It rained on only one day of our stay but this did not stop us getting out and about. The bar prices were very reasonable and often cheaper than the bars in the resort. There were plenty of places to sit if you didn't want to sunbathe, but generally the pool area was busy with everyone soaking up the sun. The sun beds are a bit hard but there were plenty of them. One gripe we would have is that many people seemed to reserve sunbeds and then disappear for most of the day even though this was against hotel policy. The hotel is a pleasant few minutes walk from the marina and we often sat drinking sangria whilst gazing out over the boats and yachts moored there. The beautiful sandy beach is a few minutes further on. There is a regular ferry service that can be taken to Ibiza town as well as the bus service. We came looking for an easy, relaxed holiday and this is exactly what we got. We found some nice bars and worth a mention is the Mirage music bar with their live music acts but be aware that drinks are a bit pricey here - probably to pay for the entertainment. In the hotel Angel did his best to keep guests entertained during the day with outdoor games and shows some evenings. We both agreed that we woud love to come back to the same hotel/resort. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would not hesitate to recommend it.

The hotel is poorly soundproofed and rooms can be noisy (even if not roudy). The quality of the food was not good, and even allowing for the difference in eating style, was poor. Cleanliness was also poor in general.
Spectacular views to sea, but lack of visibility of management.

We originally booked this short break in May but due to the volcanic ash problem we were turned away at the airport and had to make alternative arrangements.I have to say the hotel were very good when we came to change the dates and they did not apply the normal cancellation charge in view of the fact we were unable to give the customary 24 hours notice of cancellation. The hotel is nicely located about a 10/15 minute pleasant walk along the promenade into Santa Eulalia.
We really could not fault the hotel. We had an excellent room with sea view and no problem with thin walls or Michael Flatley practising along the corridors !
We pre-booked half board as we were not sure how close the restaurants were but there were many within 5 minutes walk. However we did not regret booking half board as meals were excellent with a wide and varied choice both for breakfast and dinner.
It is not the most modern hotel in Santa Eulalia but this does not detract from its facilities, cleanliness and efficient and helpful staff.
There were very few children evident even though it was half term week and most of the people appeared to be of the 35 + age group..I am not sure if this is the norm for this hotel but it certainly made for a very relaxing break
All in all we found it very good value and will certainly consider returning.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights and enjoyed a very pleasant stay. While the hotel is not plush it looks like it has just been refurbished and is certainly kept very clean. The staff all seemed helpful and friendly. We had a lovely room overlooking the bay and could sit and watch all the cruise liners coming and going and at night when they were all lit up it was a lovely sight! The pool area is quite small and was fairly busy so we opted to sunbath in the garden area which was much less busy and as the hotel is right on sea front you could listen to waves washing against the shore - it was very relaxing! We were just bed and breakfast which was quite basic and probably not the best but it was fine for us. Hotel is a short walk from marina which is absolutely lovely with some very nice - expensive - restaurants, cafes and bars. The town is about a leisurely 15 minute walk away again where there are some very nice restaurants to chose from. These are less expensive than the marina and every bit as nice. We were very impressed by the quality of restaurants in Santa Eulalia I would have to say. All in all we had a wonderful short break here and would not hesitate to return - although imagine for a longer stay it could prove to be quite costly!

Just back today and had a lovely holiday albeit the weather was a bit mixed. The hotel has a lovely bar area and plenty of nice places to sit and relax and have a drink. There are some good facilities too outside pool, inside pool, sauna, jacuzzi and even a tan stand (in case the weather is not great - I have to admit to giving it a go). ~The staff in the hotel were exceptionally pleasant and friendly and I would definitely give them 10 out of 10. The food in the hotel was enjoyable and there was plenty of choice. There was a nice outside terrace as well as an inside seating area.

The rooms were spotless and decorated to a very pleasant standard. The first couple of nights my next door neighbours seemed to spend hours walking up and down the room in high heels. Fortunately they left a couple of days later and I was not aware of any neighbour noise after that. (I see other people have commented on noise in their rooms however I do think this does depend on who you have next door rather than the walls themselves - if you have a neighbour who starts to rearrange the furniture in their room in the early hours that is going to sound noisy regardless. lol). Oh and the beds were very comfy.

Would I stay in this hotel again - yes I would.
