“Fabulous Hotel-Great Location”
Reviewed October 17, 2013

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at this wonderful hotel.
I really can't understand how anyone could fault this hotel.

The hotel really does have a Wow façade.
Reception check in was a breeze, although do be aware that you are unable to check in before 3pm unless you have arranged something. So don’t be surprised if you arrive earlier and are not able to gain access to your room
This was not a problem for us as we took a stroll while our room was being prepared.

The Spa facilities are lovely. Very relaxing with a luxurious feel and with everything from steam room to Ice bath to Jacuzzi. There are lovely daybeds too if you just want to unwind in a relaxed setting.
The Clarins Spa Revival offers every possible treatment going which you can book in advance.
There are also numerous fitness classes running every day in the hotel with a timetable available.
The spa is free access to guests and is good to note as a lot of other hotels charge extra for using the spa.

The Rooms: Fabulous…We stayed in a Deluxe room and from the moment you enter it felt very cosy. Mood lighting set to times of the day, and electrics galore. You may even request a wakeup call which automatically opens the drapes so you can wake naturally to the sunrise.
There is everything else you would expect, safe, large wardrobe, Bang and Olsen TV, mini bar, although a tad pricey (6 euros for a pineapple juice)
Comfortable beds and a pillow menu is available, robes and slippers are also provided.

Breakfast-There is everything from eggs any which way you like, fresh to order from the menu, to Fresh Fruit, Fruit Juice, special smoothies, Meats, Breads of every kind, Toast, yoghurts, cereals, nuts and more…
You can also help yourself to an array of flavoured Teas and there is Cava available to indulge in a cheeky Bucks fizz! Just lovely

The Pool- The pool area is very relaxing and from mid-morning has chilled music playing. There are several double loungers which are comfortable and there are a few Day Beds in the garden area located close to a smaller pool. Fresh towels are provided throughout the day and what I like is that they won't allow you to just leave towels on Beds all day if you are not actually going to use them… rightly so.
The Pool area has access to a bar and lunch menu is available, hotel prices as you may expect (17 Euros for a club sandwich) however you have the choice to dine out remember!

There is also a smaller Roof top Pool and Sky Bar which is an alternative and a nice location to have a cocktail before walking out for the evening.

Location- the location of the hotel was perfect. You can walk out the back of the hotel and straight onto the promenade which takes you passed the harbour at Sant Eulalaia.
There are several Restaurants and Cafes along here to choose from.
You can continue this walk right around the small beach front and then take a couple of streets up into the little town where there are several shops and access to 'Restaurant Street' which has a great buzz in the evenings, another great alternative to dining in the harbour.
-'Sidneys' on the harbour is Great for Lunch-Huge delicious Salads (I will also review)
-'Liquido' Bar on the Harbour- Great for a cocktail.. Or Two!

You can also easily take the sea Taxi to Ibiza Town which runs every Hour or head in the other direction to Es Cana for the not to be missed Hippy Market every Wednesday.
Each cost around 12-18 euros for a return ticket.

I'm not normally one to return to a location however I would definitely do so on this occasion.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and although it was out of season, and probably does get busy during the peak season, I would highly recommended this Hotel.

Room Tip: Pool Facing Room-Great for Sunset and Sunrise

We had high hopes for this hotel when we visited in September for a week's holiday. On arrival we were not disappointed - a calm and very pleasant atmosphere with an efficient and friendly Reception service. Our room was made ready for our very early arrival (10.30am), which we very much appreciated. Our corner suite was very well appointed and spacious with panoramic views over Santa Eulalia - the sunsets were especially impressive! The public rooms and the restaurant were very pleasant, as was the pool area and the grounds generally. The hotel is well located at one end of the resort, near to the marina. There are planty of good quality restaurants within walking distance. All of that said, the hotel could be so much better than it is, and with very little effort:
Unfortunately, the hotel hosts many wedding parties and as a result the pool can feel a bit mobbed by large parties of people. This can be noisy and a bit irritating after a while. It felt that there were too many herds of people moving around the pool and in the restaurant at breakfast. Breakfast had the potential to be very good, but the buffet area quickly became untidy and in need of replenishment. Waiting staff seemed to be unallocated to tables/areas and simply wandered around taking random orders - which were then often late and so had to be chased - if you could find the Waiter who took your order in the first place! The Poolside/Bar staff had zero personality and didn't seem to be interested in communicating or building a relationship with their Guests. They simply seemed to be going through the motions without a smile in sight. The Spa is located below ground level and is enormous. That said, it lacks any sort of atmosphere and feels austere and uninviting. The small exercise/jacuzzi pools are very dark and cold! All-in-all, this felt like a new Eastern European hospital, rather than somewhere where you might want to spend some quality time! The highlight was our room and the standard of housekeeping, which is excellent. By the way, there is no turn-down service on the first night's stay, which we found to be bizzare, especially as this was unannounced.
In conclusion, we had a very enjoyable week's holiday with some welcome late summer sun. However, unless these improvements are made, I would struggle to recommend the Aguas de Ibiza, not least because the room rate is not cheap, and hence it is very important that traveller expectations should be met or exceeded!

Did I really stay in the same hotel as all the people writing wonderful reviews! Who writes some of these reviews, I wonder?
We were SO disappointed with almost everything. Firstly, the area is not suitable for a 5* hotel. It is surrounded by package tour hotels and is too far away from the sea. Yes, it is within walking distance of restaurants but not good restaurants.
The hotel itself is absurd; someone came up with the idea to call it a modern spa - and charge a fortune! I would imagine that it is losing a lot of money: badly maintained, badly run and in need of a refurb in many places. Stay here if you get a REALLY cheap deal. Make sure not to take a room overlooking the car park, but also take a lot of money, you will need it!
The pool area is small and crowded with dreadful music blasting out constantly. The music competes with music blaring out from surrounding hotels, not exactly relaxing to say the least. Good luck if you are hoping for a poolside drink - you may have a very long wait. Good luck with anything you ask for, the staff will forget about your request most of the time.
The food isn't very good and drinks are overpriced.
We will be back to visit glorious Ibiza but will stay somewhere nice next time.

Room Tip: Choose a room overlooking the pool

Aguas de Ibiza is an incredibly special place! It isn't your typical bed and breakfast hotel! The relaxed yet very helpful approach of the staff made our stay so special. Breakfast was delicious and full of choice. I particularity enjoyed the spa and the many treatments they offer. I have to say, I do miss their good night service (chocolate on the pillows) now that I am back home. I can not wait for next year, I would book a flight just to go back to Aguas de Ibiza.
Thank you for the incredible staff!!!

Agree with all good comments. Loved the location, so close to Marina for resturants and bars. We went for a romantic weekend and weren't dissapointed. The facilities are great especially the spa pools. We only had breakfast, which was good (we ate outside of the hotel). The staff were friendly and happy to help you. It rained whilst we were there & the building leaked a bit (a corner of the room) we reported this and it was mopped up on our return. Our room was on third and views of marina 318.

Room Tip: 318 has balcony facing marina

I stayed here in September for the 38 degrees North fitness retreat and this place was great for it! After a day full of sports, you want to come back to your room and just be able to relax, which is exactly what you can do here.

Upon arrival we discovered we were upgraded to a corner suite, which meant we had views of the sea on 2 sides. The room was spacious with electric curtains, nice TV, desk and the bathroom was great with a view of the sea from the bathtub! One of the mattresses was somehow leaning a bit towards one side, but after we had turned it over there were no issues with it anymore.
The only thing I didn’t particularly like was the glass door of the toilet, as it somehow kills the romance a little bit. I later on discovered there was an additional sliding door, which ensured some more privacy.

I agree that the food and drinks are pricey, but the quality is seriously impressive. I had the most amazing fig tart and wanted to lick the plate once I was finished. The breakfast spread is really good and extensive. As we were doing the fitness retreat we had a special menu for dinner that only included the more healthy items on the menu, but these items were very tasty and luckily also generous enough. I just loved the goat cheese salad and had it twice during the week I was there. The staff is very attentive and can give you good recommendations. One thing that was a bit odd though is that my husband wanted just a glass of red wine and they didn't have that available, but they did have a small bottle, which he decided to take. The wine was good, however it would have been nice to just have been able to order 1 glass.

The hotel spa is very nice and spacious, really well done and the massages are impressive! Ask for Paolo if you want to have your back cracked really well! The gym is well equipped and the group classes are good. You should definitely try the yoga on the roof, as you have a lovely view of the sea.

The roof is also very nice in terms of just lounging by the pool with a cocktail (yes, I did cheat a little on this fitness retreat). I also really enjoyed sitting downstairs outside in the evenings with (yes, again) a cocktail, as they have some lovely chilled out music with a true Ibiza vibe and comfy lounge chairs. The karaoke (which is from a different hotel) can be heard, but I didn't find it that disturbing.

After having seen some other 5-star hotels on Ibiza I really think that Aguas de Ibiza is the better option. Yes, it is a bit pricey, but you really do get value for money.
