Returning after a 2 year gap since our last visit to Gaucin, we hoped our memories were not false and the food really had been a taste sensation..... Well we were so encouraged to discover that the food, wine and service was as delightful as we had thought. Local ingredients, thoughtfully prepared into dishes with surprising combinations of taste and texture which take each dish to another level. Carlos has a talent for taking local produce e.g goats cheese from Ronda or wild boar and giving it that simple but extra special touch to get the best of the flavours.
I let Lola choose wine for each course as I was the only one drinking alcohol and she gave me a tour through some Spanish vineyards which complimented every course.
I would highly recommend a trip to the restaurant when visiting Gaucin. It is an experience which has to be enjoyed.
Having read some other reviews of this restaurant I find some of them hard to believe as this really is a delight and one which should be tried and make your own judgement.
Thank you for a fantastic evening we will be back.
