The boardwalk in the Dunes area has opened up an easy route to parts of the area which were difficult to access previously. The views while walking are splended. It also gives access to familys with younger children and prams.
I meet alot of elderly people on the boardwalk.
A great addition to the facilities in Alvor.

Alvor is the Gem of the Algarve, we love it, been going now for 7 years, wonderful winter escape. We walk the wonderful Beach then get on walk boards into the village, stop for a coffee and brandy in the Bon bon, small restaurant opposite the library. always a good welcome and very reasonable.

Beautiful town. Little streets with lovely restaurants. A must for fish lovers. Would loved to have stayed there.

Visiting Alvor from the broadwalk is lovely but can be quite cold walking along. The broadwalk has been reconstructed and is very nice to walk along, not much parking so a bit of a walk to get to the beginning of the township. Great restaurants down the bottom of the town, lots of fish restaurants, great to spend a day walking through the town and getting a gelato or sitting watching the world go by. Lots of shops up in the township. Lovely old town, great to look around for the day. Or spend the day down on the Praia.

From the Luna Bay hotel, to the end of the boardwalk took 12 mins to walk. BUT, With a carousel and trampolines and pedal carts for entertainment and views of the bay out of this world it took 45mins!
