We had a week in Portugal in November and had dinner at this restaurant 5 nights out of 7 which I think speaks for itself. The fish is the best we have ever had, the service first class, we were recommended and were not disappointed. We shall be back next year.

Have visited this restaurant countless times over the years with family and cannot recommend it highly enough. We are huge fish fans but plenty on offer for those who are not so keen on fish. Busy little place close to the harbour so theres a great buzz about the place too. The fish is all extremely fresh and simply cooked on the BBQ and served with salad and new potatoes. Particular fan of the monkfish rice and cataplana dishes. Special mantion to Marco for his great, friendly service and to Ricardo who tirelessly grills the fish to perfection!

Over the years we've become regulars at O Arco. This time around we ate here on 4 nights of our one-week holiday. We tried a couple of the other TA recommended restaurants (all decent) but our preference remains for O Arco.

Our favourites were the bread and cheese (cover), the golden bream w/ potatoes + salad, the monkfish and rice stew, and the baby squid starter. Also the half + half cake - half almond cake, half creme caramel - was delicious (when we could fit it in!).

Also... this might sound like a strange observation, but their potatoes are out of this world. Simple boiled skin-on baby potatoes that taste amazing. A damn sight better than the unnaturally white, wet tasting, flavourless potatoes you get in some of the other places (I don't understand how you can go so wrong with the humble spud).

Great service as always thanks to Marco. Can't wait to return next year :)

Thank kobbo

We ate midway through our tour of the fish resterants of Alvor and with more time would have gone back. we had a large sea bass between the two of us and the cook did a great job, the fish was cooked to perfection. The waiter expertly fillited it, all in all a great fish meal.

This restaurant is in a busy location close to the harbour. We visited with our friends who have a second home in Alvor so are 'in the know' when it comes to eating out.

The fish was all cooked simply - and served with an assortment of fresh veg and lovely new potatoes. Two of us shared a deliciously delicate turbot, we also ordered monkfish kebab and sea bream. Everyone was truly delighted with their meals.

This restaurant clearly has a regular clientele - which I think is the best recommendation. Good fresh food which is well prepared and served by friendly helpful staff. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.
