“Another splendid Alvor day :)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2013

A lovely trip, highly recommend it :)
Slight problem in that our 7 yo daughter who had a v bad experience on a kayak in Anglesey earlier this summer was upset for the first 2 hrs by the sea spray and tilting of boat -Bart was great with her, explaining how much history of un-sunkeness the little ship had, but after me and dad sharing hug duties at the swim/snorkel site (which I think would have sorted her out anyway)...
We set sail with full sails and she loved it ! :)
Great trip because is aimed at families so Bart and Rick took it in turns to dive down and bring sea creatures up for the kids to look at and touch, saw lots of the coastline, lovely jumping/diving off boat (nice sangria for mums too ;))
Just before coming into harbour Anfi really became our little chatterbox again, kids challenged to collect as many different coloured shells as poss on a sandy spit of beach, then watched the amazing stunts of kite surfers jumping the 'island'.
A fabulous family afternoon :)

We really enjoyed your company too.It was so good to see Anfi warm to the the whole sailing experience after her cautious start. Sailing boats are at their most stable when sailing like they should. Difficult to believe until you are on one. She really transformed throughout the afternoon and was a real joy to see so full of beans.

“Lovely trip but!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2013

A lovely 3 hour trip with two other families with children of similar ages. We sailed (mostly by engine as there was hardly any wind) to the far end of the coves and back again and stopped in the estuary for a dip in the warm waters. The two man crew were very friendly and allowed the children to help steer the boat, to climb up the front and to catch a few fish - the only drawback on this three hour trip was the captain on our boat loved the sound of own voice! If we heard once about now good his sailing skills etc were then we heard it a thousand times! (but all reassuring of course) - there was complimentary bottle of water for the children and sangria for the adults - which I would give a miss as the beakers looked a bit suspect and the sangria warm. We were promised that they would stop and dive down and get starfish for the children to see but unfortunately that didn't happen. A good trip but maybe after reading the other reviews the other boat might have been better!

Hi,
I'm glad you enjoyed your trip, sounds like the crew worked hard for your enjoyment. Sadly you came on a day when there was a little bit of swell from the south. On these rare days it is sometimes necessary to keep the boat moving whilst at sea for customer comfort. This can mean not stopping at the rock formations to swim as there is no shelter from the swell. This is where the starfish are (if we are lucky!) The best option on these days is to return to the estuary/island area to enjoy a swim in calm conditions. This is particularly important when children are on board.
I hope you are able to come again on a normal day when your experience would warrant a 5 star review.

“Fabulous trip”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2013

Thank you to owner Rick and crew Bart for a fantastic afternoon in lovely weather conditions. Very informative about the local area and the rock formations were spectacular. We finished off the afternoon with a swim in the estuary on the return journey. It really was like a warm bath. If you are visiting anywhere in the Algarve you really should do this trip. Its brilliant.

“Great afternoon!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2013

We are a family of 4 with 2 children aged 16 and 14. We all thoroughly enjoyed the family trip. My son had a go with a fishing rod (unsuccessfully unfortunately) and we all enjoyed the snorkelling - although I'm not sure I would agree with Bart on the sea temperature being like a warm bath! Rick and Bart were really friendly & informative putting all our party at ease. Previous boat trips we have been on elsewhere have involved large motor vessels where we were all crammed to capacity. This was lovely to be part of only a small group and to actually sail. Very good value for money. Would definitely recommend. Many thanks.

“Brilliant!! :o)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2013

If you are going to Alvor then this trip is a must!!!
We enjoyed the first trip so much that we went back and did it all again a few days later!!
The first trip was around the coves just left of Alvor. We anchored up and all went snorkelling which was awesome. Bart (The long haired one and no, his Dad isn't called Homer apparently) dived down to get a sea cucumber which was really cool and an sea urchin (Which I nearly dropped). The second trip was amazing!! We did the sunset sail on our last day and were given champagne and cherries. We sailed most of the way too which we both loved!
I would highly recommend this and at only 30 Euro's for the afternoon trip each and 25 Euro's for the sunset cruise, its a Must.
Both Bart & Rick were brilliant and fun (Even though they have a really horrible job to do!!) ((Joke)).
On the sunset cruise, another guy (Sorry, I didn't catch your name) who also works on the boats was on there with some friends so obviously, he cant get enough of this trip either.
If there is one thing you do in Alvor (other than eat and breath) make sure you do this trip!! ;o)

Hi Mark,
thanks for your review. Glad you got to come out with us when there was a nice breeze to blow us across the bay.
One of the crew normally goes in for a dive and it is great to see the 'creatures from the deep' up close when we find something interesting for you isn't it.
The 'other guy' that was on the sunset trip is Mickey Blue eyes (but his eyes aren't blue!!!)
see you again.
