Just back from a week in Luna Alvor Village with my hubby and 2 kids. I cannot rate the hotel and Alvor in general enough. Just loved it from start to finish. Only complaint was the weather could have been better for the last few days but nobody to blame for that!!!!

Hotel is very clean as all reviews have stated and the reception staff are indeed so friendly. I also agree with last person that the staff on breakfast could have been friendlier but didnt really bother us as such. The rooms were cleaned every day which was a welcome surprise and we had a lovely view of the pool from our room. Also the AC was very good.

The pool area was lovely and our kids really enjoyed it. There were so many families and it made the whole experience extra special, especially for my 5 year old daughter. Conor and I also met some lovely couples who made our stay extra enjoyable. There was mostly families and couples at the resort which was perfect.

The only negative comments I would have( more advice really) would be that the hotel made no effort whatsoever to make it attractive to eat there for either lunch or dinner. We had lunch there a few times mostly because it was handy after the pool with the kids but food was very poor and took ages to come out, eventhough the place was always empty. All that would be needed would be some music playing to attract people over, some menus on the table and a few more options food wise. Most people would love to eat there rather than go downtown every day. Also at night it took ages to get a drink and nobody even bothered to try and take your order unless you went up to the bar. Just seems silly to me that the hotel wouldnt want to sell more food and beverages when people are there anyway. However I must say none of this took from the experience at all, it was more of an observation than anything.

Alvor itself is just beautiful with no shortage of amazing places to eat. Compared to Ireland it is so cheap and the food is excellent. The staff all speak English and are so welcoming to kids. The town was just a 15 minute walk downhill from the hotel and a very cheap taxi ride back if needed.

We went to zoomarine on our last day as the weather was a little dull and was deffo worth a trip. The kids loved it, especially the dolphin show. It is expensive to pay in so I would advise spending all day there if possible to get your moneys worth.

We will certainly be going back to Alvor and we will definitely stay at Luna Alvor Village again. Fab place.

Room Tip: Pool view as everyone says. We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was lovely and spacious

Just returned from Luna Alvor after spending a lovely week relaxing. The hotel is an oasis of peace and quiet, the room's are lovely with plenty of space, having a kitchen area is very welcome addition even if only to make a coffee. Staff at Reception could not be more helpful and friendly, some of the restaurant staff could do wit a happy pill every morning, that said really had no complaints. We hired a car from Faro Airport, BEWARE OF CAR HIRE WE WERE RIPPED OFF BY INTERNATIONAL CAR, we hired a little Fiat on the web for a reasonable price of €80 approx but were informed we get a full tank of petrol and return empty, the charge for the petrol was €98 , Hello what a rip off. That was the only complaint I have of the week spent in Alvor. Just at the bottom of the road there is a delightful restaurant Al Ca pones who do delicious Pizzas and all types of food, Lovely restaurants in Alvor as we were driving we ate a lot outside the town. Will definitely return to Luna Alvor Village.

Excellent clean accomodation in a peaceful location. Great value for money and would highly recommend. Was a 15 minute walk from Alvor and about a 20 minute walk from the beach. Staff were very friendly and polite. Defintely would stay here again.

We have just returned from Alvor Village Suites for the fifth time and as usual it more than lived up to our expectations. Everything was just perfect apart from the weather which was very mixed and extremely windy - luckily we had packed waterproofs so we headed out walking on the rainy days and still had a fabulous time! See you in September!

Room Tip: Pool view is a must!

The apartments were perfect. On arrival we had a welcome surprise of being allocated a 2 bed apartment, when we only paid for a 1 bed. The Apartment was very clean, modern and spacious. They were very well equipped for self catering. Breakfast was brilliant, something for everyone, large selection of hot and cold food, also having the option of eating outside with lovely view of the sea.
Pool area could do with a few more sun beds but plenty of area on grass surrounding the pool and kids pool is ideal for toddlers :-).
Location, it is a walk to the town but more than do able, I would recommend a car, we rent cars through travel rent and its only 105 euros for a week, so very worth it to appreciate all of alvor and surrounding areas.
The beach is a most, but to get the most beautiful part of the beach you have to go opposite end to the town to explore caves. We've been going to Alvor for years and we are going back to these apartments next year.
