“Lovely Building”
Reviewed May 17, 2010

We booked in and my bag was carried to the room (not had that done for a long time). We were right in the middle of town it was great. Staff very friendly and a fantastic breakfast. Everything very clean.

This hotel reminds me of how travel was 10-20 years ago - but I mean that entirely positively. The building is old and interesting. We had a "superior" room, which was large, with original features and a decent en-suite. Breakfast was just fine, a simple but filling buffet. The staff were very friendly - note, no credit cards taken, just cash, or the Portuguese "MultiBanco" cards. The website shows a pool, which you can see from the terrace but doesn't look like it's on their property - wish we'd asked about it!

It is an excellent hotel. The buiding is lovely, the staff was incredible, the city is beautifull. The hotel had a good breakfast.
You can walk in the garden in front of the hotel or in the town. The hotel has some programs but if you rent a car you can make good travels around. You can visit the Alqueva, the largest artificial lake in Europe, extending over 80 Km of the river Guadiana. And you should visit the magnificent castle of Monsaraz and its wonderful landscape.
You can spend 2 ou 3 days in the region with this lovely hotel as a basis.
The only problem is the hotel does not have a lift because it is an old building, but you can always ask the help of staff to carry your bags.

Nice and clean. Good location with walking distance to the centre of town. The garden needed a little TLC, may be it's prettier in the summer time.

Hotel de Moura was an excellent surprise.
The buiding is very beautiful, namely the main stairs, the breakfast room, the bar, the front and the yard.
Rooms are oldfashioned but spacious and confortable, with AC and TV.
Moura is a very nice town full of wonderful white houses and a very rich gastronomy.
The landscape is wondferful, being named the golden plains.
