“Friendly small chocolate shop and (small) factory”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

This is a friendly local chocolate shop with a distinctive light-blue branding in the middle of Geiranger village. We visited a couple of times and tasted chocolate before buying some of their delicious Brunost Shokolade as a gift. The sales team, both from Sweden, were friendly and helpful. It's not a big factory at all, just a local cottage industry, but the team were helpful when we visited. I'm sure that, if we had wanted more information the girls would have been very forthcoming. Because they make different chocolate at different times you might have to come back in a day or two, for the one you want (especially if it is a very specialised product such as cloudberry), but it will be so fresh and newly made and delicious. If you are in Geiranger, and you love chocolate, this is definitely worth a visit.

We had taken a tour up the mountain and were told about the lovely chocolate shop where they make their own chocolates.

Maybe the tour guide talked it up too much but I was really disappointed to find that the 'factory' was a room at the back of the shop with a glass wall for viewing and there was no one working there. The cafe itself is small and can really seat only 3 small tables.

Lovely chocolate but don't expect to learn the secrets of chocolate making!

“Chocolatey and picturesque”
Reviewed June 19, 2012

Really small shop serving a particular hot chocolate - basically you are given hot milk and real chocolate bits to melt in your milk :D tasted great :) the decor is cute and the view to the fjord if you can get a window seat is lovely :) also lots of delicious, nicely packed, chocolate available for sale.

“Ne adventurous and tickle your tastebuds”
Reviewed August 20, 2011

Not to be missed in Geiranger. Superb chocolate and ice cream with a Scandinavian twist. Be adventurous and try the 'brown cheese chocolate' and the liqourice ice-cream. In my dreams I live in the little white house with the slipway to the water (and the supermarket next door) but only during the summer months.

“Best Chocolate I've Ever Had!”
Reviewed August 19, 2011

After kayaking Geirangerfjord, my wife and I stopped in the little shops on our way back to the dock. At Chocolate With A View, we found some of the most delicious chocolates that we have ever tasted! After sampling a few different chocolates, we settled on a bag of chocolates that were made using olive oil. We should have bought more, because they were so delicious that they did not last long once we were back on the ship! Now that we are back home, I am going to e-mail them to see if they ship to the US! Definitely worth a stop if you are in Geiranger.
