With a group of fifteen, the owner of our rented villa secured a reservation and worked with the restaurant to create a menu that would meet all of the dietary requirements of our group (beef or pork, etc.) in advance of our vist. After an email exchange we landed on a menu that was outstanding. The restaurant is tiny and all of the ingredients are purchased fresh. We started with crunchy pecorino cheese & salad, then moved on to hand-made pappardelle with duck sauce (the best dish during our trip to Italy which I am still craving), then moved on to chicken breast filled with cheese, grapes and chestnuts with potatoes and finally ended with a chocolate cake, which was flourless and decadent. AT 35 euros per person, the meal was a great value. Our server was lovely and worked diligently to take care our large group. The chef came out to meet us and was given an ovation for the meal he prepared. Not to be missed if you are in the Montegonzi/Cavriglia area, but be sure to make reservations especially if you have a group larger than four people.
