Owner description: Ravagni since 1421 is a family business which is mentioned for the first time in 1421 at the Florence Archivies and it's included since 1980 in the list of Italian firms. It's pduction oil, wine, vinegar, seasoned oils, soaps, oil based creams and others particular products are handmade and following their season potentiality. The products are not only sold worldwide, but are used by the family itself, family which moved in this area already since the end of the 12th century. We tried and are still trying to keep the working methods as traditional as possible even if many times quality certifications laws and health laws try to bring you to the omologations of perfumes and tastes relatively to the products you normally find in the commerce.Certainly our products are not the best of the Italy but they surely are simple and true. The Proffesor Giacomo Bartolomeiof Ravagni also prints and edits local and Italian history books and not only this.We have real but also virtual shops but we prefer to invite famalies, school and people coming from all over the world in order that they can see, smell and work if they want...

We were a group of ten women who enjoyed our lunch at Ravagni in March immensely. All the previous excellent reviews apply. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch with the family and spent many hours talking, singing and enjoying a truly wonderful home and family. After lunch, several of us placed orders for olive oil products to be shipped to us in the U.S. because the products were not in stock at the time. This is where the problems started. Four months passed and we had still not received our orders, even though our credit cards had been charged for up to $127. We were assured in emails that the order was being processed, then we were told that it was the problem of FedEx (their records showed no package had been shipped). We finally received a package after requesting refunds and threatening bank action and bad reviews. The only problem is that the order is totally incorrect, cans of oil bent, and no packing slip. It honestly looks like miscellaneous items were thrown into a box and sent to us to stop our complaining. Bottom line is that the lunch was delightful and totally worth the trip to Anghiari, but don't place any orders for products to be shipped!

Ravagni is a family owned olive oil destination since 1421. You are able to view their olive oil processing area...not the corporate olive oil plant you might find elsewhere but a process that dates back 2000 years. Francesco, son and manager, will walk you through the process as well as the old mill. After the tour you partake of a most wonderful meal of wine, cold cuts, olives, cheese and the real star of the meal...a variety of different favors of oil, all processed on property. The family is present to answer questions although Francesco is the only one who is fluent in English. The fact that his mother and father speak almost no English what-so-ever only adds to the experience. After the meal (no charge) you are able to purchase oil to take home. Make room in you luggage!!! We first visited 5 years ago and returned this last May. This is not just a meal. It is the most fun, authentic adventure you will have.

This old mill and wine tasting (hand pressed oil too, of course) is just perfect. Sit under the old chestnut tree and be tempted by Francesco's beautiful oils and wines. His experimental balsamic is five star quality!
This property is off the beaten path and well worth the visit.
Bravo Francesco!

Literally fell upon this amazing mill on the way to visit caprese de michelangelo and decided on a whim to drop in.Our luck was certainly in that day ,dropping in so unexpectedly didn't deter Francescos enthusiasm and friendly hospitality.Unfortunately although we managed a tour and tastepopping samples of his products we couldn't stay for lunch. This we will rectify this year 2013 as we are once again visiting this breathtakingly beautiful region.Unmissable.

This was really special!
We came there with our tour day during our stay at Casa Ombucto. Interesting to see how to make olive oil. The lunch was just out of this world!
They had about 12 different type of olive oil to taste, they made their own wine, jam, bread, grappa, vegetable from their garden, and I'm probably forgetting a few...
Simply amazing! They invited us to come back to come pick our own olives!
