We stayed in this 3 star hotel with a group during a hiking weekend for 2 nights. The hotel is conveniently located in a small side street in the centre of Latsch (the German name of the italian 'Laces') in the Vinschgau area of South Tyrol, a hiking & biking paradise. From the hotel, you can walk to the cable car and train stations easily. You won't need a car.
We were pleasantly surprised by the comfortably and tastefully decorated room and lots of cupboard space. The hotel used to be the Hotel Tanja but has a new extension and is now called Hotel Sonnenhof. We did not get to see the rooms in the 'Tanja' part. The hotel does not have many facilities - just the basics: a small pool, a garage, lift, magazines to borrow. Breakfast is buffet style. Not a large spread but enough to start off your day. We did not have half board so I can't comment on dinner.
As of Oct 06, the plot of land next to the hotel is being developed (by someone else). However, the hotel is now closed for the season till March, so if you would like to book when the hotel reopens, check if the construction work is still going on.
