B&B Cinisi Vacanze
Ranked #5 of 10 Cinisi B&B and Inns
Reviewed August 7, 2012

We arrived late, and it took about 10 minutes for someone to arrive and let us in. Once in, we were surprised at the up-do-date, even quaintness of the place. The town isn't much to write home about, but it's got a little charm, and it's near the water. The town of Terrasini is very near and much quainter if your looking to walk around or have dinner. It was just a one night stop for us, and I wouldn't recommend it for much more. NOTE: this was the only spot in our whole three weeks of Italy traveling that we had a washer and dryer in our room! We had the big room downstairs with bunk beds. I wish I could have done some laundry, but we weren't there long enough. The streets are very narrow, so it's tricky to park, but doable. And the parking is free.

This is a nice B&B, very handy for the airport. There isn't a lot to do in Cinisi, it wouldn't be my choice as a base however we had a early return flight so this was a good option for access to the airport.

The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was large and clean, we parked on the road right outside the B&B and were only2 mins walk from somewhere to eat.

Overall a good value option in Cinisi.

Our plane arrived late, and we decided to spend the first night in Cinisi, and Cinisi Vacanze was not a bad choice at all. After having picked up a car at the airport, finding Cinisi in the dark was not difficult, but not quite so easy finding the B&B. Look for the sign almost at the end of the main street. Our room was fine, and everything was functional and very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast in a bar on the main street just around the corner. Free parking in the street outside. All in all good value for money.

The good stuff: rooms were impeccably clean.

The bad stuff: even though we booked 3 days ahead, nobody was there at 4pm when we arrived after a long drive. We had to call them from an international mobile phone, then wait on the street for 15 minutes until somebody turned up. There was no apology and they seemed surprised.

The rooms were small, the bathroom was outside the room, and every sound both inside and outside the house could be heard very loudly inside the room.

The young people in reception gave unsolicited advice about airport check-in, argued amongst themselves, and charged our credit card twice.

The town itself had a tiny beach full of rubbish and drunk teenagers, most of the roads were unfinished, and the only 2 restaurants on the "recommended" main drag were cheap pizza take-aways where more drunk teenagers hung out.

All this for 67 Euros which we were told by the receptionists was a discount we were lucky to get. For that price we've lived in much nicer, bigger and more welcoming places elsewhere in Sicily (including Syracuse and Sciacca) where there are actually people in reception, not to mention actual roads, restaurants and peaceful places to hang out.

We were a family group touring Sicily and needed a hotel near the Palermo airport to catch an early morning flight. We chose this place based on that but were stunned to find a lovely, comfortable, friendly B&B in the middle of a small town, just a short drive from the airport. Breakfast was included via a coupon to use at a bar (in Italy this means a place that serves coffee and rolls) a block away. All rooms had free wifi. Plenty of on-street parking. The main building had several lovely rooms, we were lucky to get one that had an outdoor terrace, so the whole family gathered there with a bottle of wine. We also got a room in a building around the corner - it was really a fully-equipped studio apartment. Don't be put off by the tiny streets as you approach, this is a typical small Italian city with ancient roots. The hotel reception was extremely helpful and accommodating. The hotel deserves its high ratings because of its convenience to the airport, great value, and its pleasing spaces.

This is a convenient spot for someone who has to catch a morning flight out of Palermo, but I'm skeptical that I'd stay again. I believe we found the reception open by coincidence. Days later when we had e-mail connection did we see that the reception contacted us the morning of our arrival to find out our projected arrival time. The price was good, but the inconveniences would probably lead me elsewhere in the future. The available parking was indeed a close spot, but it was a marked handicapped spot on a very narrow street. We weren't sure about whether our car would be properly marked for the spot or whether it was too wide and risked having the side mirror damaged on the rental car because it stuck out farther than the other cars parked on the street. So, we opted to park elsewhere. The rooms were very clean and the interior was decorated beautifully. We had a delightful self-prepared meal in the common sitting room upstairs...just right. BUT when we went to sleep, we could hear everything in the common areas echoing up the tile stairs, despite the fact that our a/c was on and running. We heard the office telephone ring multiple times and the pounding on the front door of the guests who locked themselves out. Also, one of us had a private bath outside of the room, and sound of the keys and doors when going in and of there undoubtedly caused echoes for our neighbors.

Stayed here because we needed somewhere close to the Palermo airport for one night, and were delighted by a large comfortable very-clean room and common eating area (with a place to fix oneself a cup of tea) and a great general location. Breakfast is served in a bar down the street and is more authentic and delicious than a typical hotel breakfast. The town is very nice; it's walkable and has lovely local shops. Staff was a little disorganized and the parking is tight, but we had no trouble.
