Messeria Montalbano is a typical country estate converted into a luxury resort. Modern and elegant, but maintains its authentic feel.
We stayed in a deluxe room - in traditional style, very nice with attention to detail; would definetely recommend deluxe/superior even if more expensive as they are worth the stay.
The few negatives are service not always up to the standards, for example the pool bar had slow service with limited food choice, buffet breakast also just ok but otherwise very pleasant stay in what definetely is a high quality resort.

Stayed here for a wedding. Staff were really friendly, excellent service, lovely receptions rooms, but the hotel is probably geared more towards wedding receptions than as a hotel in its own right (limited food available lunchtime and none in the evenings when there is a wedding reception taking place). Rooms very nice and cool - spacious, good bathrooms. Lovely pool. About 15 mins from Ostuni. You definitely need a car here. Great location if you're staying for a wedding - otherwise possibly very noisy if you're just a hotel guest as the wedding receptions go on late into the night (there was one every night we were there). Word of warning: don't change flights at Milan if you're flying Alitalia to Bari/Brindisi as your luggage may well not arrive!

Myself and my husband spent a week this month at the Masseria Montalbano.
An absolutely beautiful masseria.
The service was excellent the food really good and a fantastic pool.
What I absolutely loved about the place was the absolute silence super.
A car is definietly necessary to get arund and what I would suggest if you do stay there is to visit the close town of Ostuni beautiful littl town completely white with some lovely restaurants and bars.
Having said all this a week was fine any longer would just be too much..

We stayed here for a week in mid October. What an amazing place! Beautifully restored retaining much of the character but with more than a bit of luxury. The pool was finished when we were there. Although very large and very pretty, it was freezing. Maybe some solar heating would be a good idea!
The hotel was quiet when we were there except for the odd function in the rooms at the end of the courtyard , which did not interfere with us at all.
Our only slight disappointment was the menu. What food we had was very good but there was no choice and rather limited. I am sure this would be better at busier times of the year. Breakfast was very good and plentiful though.
We ate out every other night and at this time of year had to look quite hard to find restaurants open. Ostuni has a couple of excellent ones.
A word of warning if you have not been to this area of Italy before and you not early risers. Everything closes around 1pm and does not open again until 4.30 and this often includes restaurants even in the cities. Taranto is well worth a visit but Monday is half day closing and nothing opens until 4.30

Stayed here for two nights. It is a converted 16th C village complete with small church. The rooms are beautiful with lovely furniture and modern touches like flat screen TVs. The deluxe rooms have a small terrace with the sun most of the day.
There is a very stylish bar and a restaurant serving delicious local food. The breakfast was the best we had in Puglia. They are in the process of building what looks like a lovely pool and further landscaping some of the grounds. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is very well located about 7kms from Ostuni and 5kms from some lovely beaches. It isn't cheap but is a lovely treat, will definately go back.
