“Beautiful Masseria in Ostuni”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

After reading all the reviews, we had to stay at Masseria Salinola.

It's a beautiful property, over 300 years old and situated 5 mins' drive from Ostuni town (on the hill).

The main building has the rooms and we chose one that was at the back of the building, as it was bigger in size. The rooms in front have more character but are smaller.

The swimming pool is excellent and so is the entire property just to laze around.

The food is EXCELLENT ! If you're staying here, you should definitely eat one of your dinners here.
Daniele is an excellent host and has the best tips for beaches, food and driving around Puglia!
Thank you Daniele!

I have docked one star because of the price - we thought it was too expensive.

After 6 nights at Masseria Salinola, we left happy, refreshed and full of fantastic Italian cuisine. Service is faultless and the food is, quite simply, some of the best authentic Pugliese cooking you will find. Even if you cannot stay here, book for dinner. If you do stay here, do not bother going to eat anywhere else. We also recommend the bike tour which is a lovely way to see the countryside but an even better way to make room for more food. Daniele and his family do everything they can to make your experience pleasurable so we will be back for sure.

This old Masseria is run by Daniele who clearly believes in hospitality and wonderful food and wine. The room was comfortable and clean. The pool excellent. The buildings were rustic and you could see your food being grown. The breakfast was as good an any 5* hotel and the food was better!!
Daniele arranged a cycle trip and a trip to a Roman olive press in the 5 days of our stay. These trips were very reasonable and great value.
We were greeted with cold almond juice and the sage advice to use the excellent free wifi only for pleasure and to avoid work!!
We will return - Leonard Peter

We spent 5 nights here this Sept. & truly enjoyed our time both at the Masseria & in Puglia. Daniele, the owner, was very welcoming & accommodating. At the Masseria he had arranged for my husband & I to have massages, even though they were scheduled for the day after our departure. The masseuse was terrific, the best we ever had! Then we had a wine tasting from one of the local wineries at the Masseria...so informative and so much fun! The rooms were delightfully unexpected...comfortable & cozy. They are all different...so the choice is yours! The best part, however, is the food. It is truly delicious! We mean some of the best food we had & we had a lot of great food. The breakfast buffet was very good, a little heavy on sweets but dinner was fabulous. The best pasta ever. The linguini with seafood was spectacular! We're still dreaming about it! We loved the cities in Puglia as well....Ostuni, the White City...Alberobello,busy but worth the visit to see the Trulli...Lecce, a Southern City that is so beautiful...Matera, home of the Sassi....Pulignano al Mare, a quiet beautiful seaside town. Take the time to visit Masseria
Salinola. You'll be glad you did. We were. Thank you, Daniele.

My friend Suzy and I have just stayed a wonderful week at this most delightful Masseria - initially we were B&B ,though rapidly changed this to include all our evening meals given the high quality and deliciousness of the home grown produce, the beautifully cooked menus and the wonderful service received. This venue is an absolute delight and cannot be faulted! The quaint white washed buildings are full of charm, as are the clean and well equipped bedrooms. The Masseria sits in typically Puglian countryside, with its rich red soil - set in amongst olive and fruit trees, with vegetables growing a plenty. Ostuni nearby, the enchanting white city, is walkable from the Masseria, at a steady pace for about 20 minutes - there are cycles to borrow from the Masseria to go and explore the beautiful little back roads nearby. There is a lovely good sized swimming pool and table tennis.

Our deepest thanks, of course, must go to Daniele, Mimmo, Lucia (and her amazing food!) and all their staff - who are delightful. They are professional, yet extemely friendly and very caring. Nothing is too much for them. Both Suzy and I were made to feel part of the family. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful place to be. There is a real sense of calm here - a place for complete relaxation - so wonderful for the soul. Daniele - we shall return - this is CERTAIN :-) Thank you all so much for such a special holiday. Susie & Suzy

Our first visit to this part of Italy was made extra special by the stay in this fantastic Masseria. The accommodation was beautifully appointed, the attentive service from every member of the family and staff was exceptional and the amazing food at breakfast and dinner was worthy of the very highest restaurant, made more special by the knowledge that much of the produce is grown in the garden of the property. If you want to try typical Puglian food, this is the place to go. Would definitely recommend as a great base for visiting the surrounding areas of interest and the nearest town, Ostuni, is well worth a visit, especially in the evening.

We were me, my wife and a kid of 3 and we had everything we needed thanks to the warm hospitality of the owners.
