“Absolute Magic!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2012

We chose the Masseria because we're in the process of buying a property near Ostuni and it's well placed, halfway between the town and the coast. Oh, and it's cheaper even than basic hotels in the town.

It's a revelation! Beautiful grounds, a character building with arches and vaulted ceilings, spacious, well-appointed modern rooms built in keeping with the old farmhouse, ancient olive trees, beautiful, friendly cats and dogs and generous buffet breakfasts (italian-style; heavy on the home-made cakes) included in the price. The family are delightful (though only one speaks good English); they sell their own delicious olive oil, too - the main business of the place.

We loved it. Can you tell?

Peter and Sue, Suffolk, England.

Beautiful family run Masseria in a working olive farm 5km from Ostuni, 3km from the coast. Well kept gardens with some spectacular ancient olive trees. Nice small pool surrounded by sunbeds. Comfortable rooms cleaned daily. For us the highlight was the restuarant, where we ate every evening. First class food, wine and service at middle class prices. We were made very welcome by the 3 generation family, (and their crazy parrot, Coco, who perfectly imitates creaking doors, ringing telephones and barking dogs). Looking forward to going back again next year!

Room Tip: Rooms in the main area are quieter than the self catering bungalows, which are 900m away and quite n...

The grounds are gorgeous, almost park-like with a small swimming pool and benches and private patios for most rooms and a parrot with an attitude--very charming. We had a bit of trouble finding the hotel even with our GPS until a kind young woman let us follow her right to it. Our main reason to visit was to spend our time in the old town area of Ostuni so it was a fair drive finding our way back in the dark. Overall we were very happy with the accommodations.
