“A trulli vacation to remember...”
Reviewed June 24, 2010

I found this place way back in April while searching the web for a B&B with the use of a little kitchen as well. In reality this turned out to be better than what I had imagined and expected. Comfortable Trullo, neat and clean and efficient with extremely friendly owners. An absolute gem of a place. The lady of the property has a mine of information about the area and a lovely person. I would love to return to this place in the near future.
A swimming pool would of course add great value to this place. But you can use the swimming pool of a property close by from 8am to 8pm for an amount of some 8 euros and has a restaurant as well.
For train lovers, there are ample opportunities to travel around on the local slow coaches.

10 minutes tube from Ostuni and 10 minutes walk from sea is really compesated by price and service at MasseriaFerri. I would stay there any time I visited ostuni. The breakfast was beatutifully cooked to choice. Omelettes with Ham, Tomatoe, Cheese and Mushroom were my favourites with juice, cereal, crosants, and all you can think of. After the italy part of our trip we spent 2 weeks in France and Holland and could not find a B & B that came any where near Ferri. Little extras like when we were ready to depart each day for sightseeing Ferri would have 2 bottles of water, 2 health bars 2 pieces of fruit to get through the day. A final touch that when we had to pick up a car on our deperture from a nearby neighbourhood Ferri was imediately there to get us to the rental place. All this combined with a lovely noodle shop plus many more restaurants as you get off train on the return for dinner made our stop very pleasant!!!!

We spent 6 nights a Masseria Ferri and everything was perfect. The room was comfortable and elegantly furnished. The staff couldn't do enough and made a real effort to get to know guests personally and anticipate their needs. The beach was small and rocky (typical of the area) - which really didn't matter as the salt water pool was so lovely. The food and service were first rate. The menu changed daily and there were always tempting choices (preparations, fishes and meats) including regional Puglian specialties. The burrata took my breath away.

One tip - show enthusiasm for local Puglian wines! All the members of the restaurant staff know local grapes, wines and producers very well and are eager to recommend their favorites. They introduced us to some unforgettable bottles, took note of our preferences and suggested other wines that were right on the mark.

Another tip - spend enough time here to enjoy both the Masseria and the region of Puglia. The man at the Hertz desk at the Rome airport was stunned when we said we were driving to Puglia. He enthusiastically offered many helpful suggestions of towns and cities to visit. Lecce, Matera and Alberobello were all worth the trip. The Masseria arranged for english speaking guides, wine tastings and lunch reservations. In hot months, these towns bake in the heat. Plan to do the touring in the cool morning hours before retreating to a restaurant for an extended lunch during the mid-day heat.

Agriturismo Ferri to ostuni is everything and more than I hoped it would be. i travelled with my 13 year old nephew and from the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home. We were totally relaxed from the start and didn't feel like we were in a hotel or intruding in someones home, Lella and Albert are so warm and inviting. Lella was very helpful and Albert and one of the vineyard workers would play on the playstation with my nephew in the evenings while dinner was beeing cooked. The dinners were fun and interesting sitting round the big table in the kitchen chatting to people from all over the world.
The food is fabulous and Nadia explains what she cooked and how its done. The wine is so good!!!!
Like i said, I can't recommend this place enough. If you want to stay in a place exactly as you imagine Apulia to be, then this is the place.
The only problem I had was that I didn't have enough space in my suitcase to take more of their wine home with me.
I can't wait to go back and have already been checking out flight prices!!!
