“a charming home from home in Ostuni”
Reviewed October 4, 2010 for a stay in September 2010

We stayed in Casa Esmeralda for 6 nights at the end of September and can't speak highly enough of not only the house itself but also of the location and the service provided by Tim and Angela. The information provided prior to our trip by the couple proved invaluable and certainly saved us a good few hours of research! The house itself was beautiful, bright and quirky and we felt very much ar home there. It is clear that Angela and Tim very much care about their guests and as such have carefully designed and equipped the house with absolutely everything you could possibly need (and more!) including portable bbqs, a fantastic dvd collection (good for any rainy September day, of which we only had one!), extremely comfortable beds, travel adaptors, washing lines(and machine), very well equipped kitchen, picnic bags etc etc, I could go on. The service, including the hospitality (thank you for the lovely evening Tim and Angela!), introduction to local restaurants and shop owners was greatly appreciated and whilst they were more than welcoming with their hospitality they were also very considerate of the guests privacy - something which we believed Tim and Angela balanced perfectly.

Ostuni itself is fantastic, and although September was a little quiet, its the perfect place to relax in (on the wonderful rooftop terrace), or by bicycling or driving to many of the lovely local beaches and towns. The local produce is wonderful and there are many local butchers, fishmongers, delis and grocers within minutes of the house.

We didn't want to leave!

“Lovely and very baby friendly - Casa Tavani”
Reviewed October 3, 2010 for a stay in September 2010

We have just come back from a 10-day holiday in Ostuni where we stayed at one of Tim & Angela's lovely apartments. L'Alcova was a lovely little apartment, very well equipped and perfect for a little family like ourselves (a couple with a baby). Our holiday couldn't have been the same without Tim & Angela's wonderful hospitality. They not only put a cot for our 8-month old boy in the little bedroom, but also nappies, swim nappies, toys and even a potty! The apartment is very safe for a baby - our baby learnt to crawl and pull himself up while we were staying there! We also really appreciated the very well equipped kitchen and the fridge that was stocked with essentials - even a bottle of prosecco! - as having a baby meant that we stayed in and cooked quite a few meals at the apartment.
We would not hesitate to recommend Casa Tavani to anyone visiting Ostuni. We would definitely consider going back there and perhaps will try one of the other apartments next time.

“a charming hideaway in idyllic surroundings”
Reviewed September 30, 2010 for a stay in August 2010

We stayed in Casa Esmaralda - very little to add on top of other reviews suffice to say that it is a charming little house, ideal for a romantic get-away or even a family break. Breakfast every morning on the first terrace made for a perfect start to the day. Enjoying the stunning views from the top terrace at dusk with a glass of wine, the perfect end. In Tim and Angela, the perfect hosts. Highly recommend and will certainly return!

“We are back again and have booked for next year as well - can't say better than that!”
Reviewed September 9, 2010 for a stay in September 2010

We have returned! Last year we stayed for 2 weeks in La Terrazza at the beginning of June when the weather was excellent. This year (sadly) we only have one week and today there has been some rain but this has shown us that the weather is not so important as we have still relaxed and had a lovely time. We have enjoyed using the local shops and market to buy meats, cheeses and fruit (as well as a little wine!) to take back to the wonderful terrace at La Terrazza for a leisurely lunch followed by a peaceful siesta. What a marvelous life.

Each time we stay in La Terrazza a beautifully spacious, modern and relaxing apartment tastefully adapted to include traditional features at the top of this historic house. Before finding Casa Tavani we stayed elsewhere in Ostuni but what La Terrazza has is everything in one place, the luxury of air conditioning, modern facilities as well as amazing light and views that cannot be bettered. In addition Tim and Angela do everything they can to make your stay perfect and for us they certainly succeed.

Ostuni has such very good food just a short walk away from Casa Tavani in the amazing number of local restaurants. Despite 5 weeks in total here in Ostuni there are many restaurants that we have still not had time to try. Favourites from last time are pushed out by newly opened places although some we cannot fail to return to. We are very sad to be leaving so soon and because of that we have booked La Terrazza for another 2 weeks next September.

“Nice holiday in Ostuni”
Reviewed September 4, 2010 for a stay in July 2010

We had very nice vacation in Ostuni. The location is excellent and the architecture and life of the city are charming. Moreover, staying in Angela and Tim house was very interesting, because we were emerged into the Italian way of life. Ostuni offers very good cuisine, some nice beaches and pleasant evenings. Also, Ostuni was a good base from which we made a lot of trips over the Puglia region.
We spent 2 weeks in the L´Alcova apartment with the arch from 16th century and very good atmosphere. Angela and Tim have very good taste and the apartment is elegant. There is all necessary equipment you need, including beach towels, toys and umbrella. Nevertheless, the best experience was meeting with Angela and Tim. They are very nice people, always helpful and very attentive. It is also advantage that they both are fluent in Italian. We learn from Angela and Tim a lot. If we would run a small pension, they would be our example.

“Stunning apartment in a lovely town”
Reviewed August 30, 2010 for a stay in July 2010

My husband and I visited Casa Tavani in July, staying at La Terraza for six nights and Casa Esmeralda for two nights. The apartments more than lived up to our (high, after reading the trip advisor reviews) expectations, and were equally charming and stylish, but very different.

From when I first enquired about booking, Angela was helpful and informative, answering all my emails promptly. We chose to take a taxi from the airport, and while this was not a cheap option, as we had been travelling for almost twelve hours by the time our flight arrived at Ostuni, it was worth the money and made the journey to the apartment quick and relaxing. Tim and Angela could not have been more welcoming, and it was really nice to have them ‘on hand’ if we had any queries or worries, for example, to ring the taxi firm again on our return journey when we were beginning to worry that we had been forgotten.

We were both in need of a holiday, and La Terraza worked its magic as soon as we walked through the door, causing us both to feel soothed and relaxed straightaway. The apartment is even more stunning and stylish than it appears from the website photos, and I had fallen in love with it when we booked back in January! The space, light and the views from the (several) terraces is beautiful, and the apartment has all the things I could miss from home (stove top coffee pot, beautiful white bed linen), together with other unexpected home comforts (incense sticks, scented candles, fish shaped cheese grater…..)

The legendary bottle of prosecco was waiting in the fridge together with bread, butter, jam, milk and coffee meaning that we could head straight for the terrace and enjoy the sun and fantastic views, to recharge our batteries before heading into town in the evening.

The kitchen was well equipped and made cooking in the apartment a pleasure rather than a chore, as did the fresh vegetables and produce available in the local shops which were cheaper than at home. This is the first time we have been self catering in Italy and even the local shop run by the friendly Rosanna had all the interest of visiting an Italian deli, without spending a fortune.

We chose not to hire a car, relying instead on public transport to visit the local beaches which were easily accessible, especially after Tim had helpfully shown us around the town to allow us to get our bearings, and give us advice on bus stops, where to buy tickets etc, together with information on where the best restaurants and bars could be found. Other than trips to beaches, we stayed around Ostuni itself, relaxing and enjoying our private terraces, and so were not very adventurous. We enjoyed sampling the many bars and restaurants, which were great value and enjoyed wandering round the shops and the Sunday antiques market.

La Terraza was as spacious and light as Casa Esmeralda was cosy and interesting, but both were stylish and comfortable with the same thoughtful touches. We had a fantastic holiday, thanks to Angela and Tim, and would recommend this without hesitation. My only concern is that we have now been spoilt completely and that future holiday accommodation will simply not measure up!

“We arrived to a fridge stocked with the basics and more importantly a chilled bottle of proseco”
Reviewed August 27, 2010 for a stay in June 2010

We stayed in this lovely apartment in June with our two small kids. The owners knew we were coming with two young children and picked out movies they thought we might enjoy. My daughter enjoyed reading a british children's novel from their book shelf and the Hello Kitty beach towel. They were very generous with their time. Tim took the time to show my husband where the easiest parking is located and the neighborhood grocery store. We arrived to a fridge stocked with basics (bread, butter, milk) and more importantly a bottle of chilled proseco. I am glad we brought our luggage with wheels as there is no parking at the apartment. The street outside the apartment was closed to most traffic which meant no cars or motorinos disturbing our sleep. My children loved the balcony, hanging out the beach towels to dry and talking to neighbors on the road. Tim and Angela had great restaurant and beach recommendations for us. The apartment is clean and even had a washing machine ( a great bonus for traveling families).
