We enjoyed strolling through the village of Parikia and seeing the small alleys and shops. If you are in Parikia take some time to visit the village and enjoy the sights.

Our local guide Phillada Lecomte gave us the fantastic history of this beautiful church, its small side chapels and the works in the museum. Scientists found amazing energy emanating from the ancient foundations of this church finished my the Emperor Justinian.

A beautiful maze with many shops, built on purpose to disorient visitors as in the past the visitors were not tourists but pirates. It maintains the originality of the white/blue and it is a great idea for a stroll on a windy day as it is protected from the wind.

We visited Parikia town at the end of the season. We started by enjoying a Frappe and a divine pastry in a bakery a short walk from the pier, something like ZOYMHE. Great place! After we charged ourselves with energy we started walking around. You have the main shopping street and then you have all the side alleys. A beautiful walk that can take a whole day. And every corner is beautiful! A beautiful Frankish Castle, beautiful harbor, beautiful churches. We just loved it. Have a bite at one of the taverns, they were worth it (we tested two) and don't skip the HUGE Nick's hamburger.

I really enjoyed visiting the town which has the typical narrow pedestrianised streets, relaxing squares and a few sites to visit eg the Frankish castle, Church of a Hundred Doors & the small archaeological museum. The bars & restaurants were all good & friendly.

A great place to stay. The charming old town is beautiful. There are a great choice of places to eat as well as good shopping. The port is accessible and adjacent to the main square. In addition the restaurants also are plentiful along the sea front. Even if the ferries are not running Parikia is serviced by a small airport only 20 minutes away. Loved the place.

yes a tourist town but lovely to walk through. The small alleyways filled with shops and restaurants are very romantic and nice to look at. I could take hundred of pictures there. As our experience has been in all of Greece..the people are very friendly and the food is delicious!

Visited ar the start of October so busy period had ended. Someshops already closed for the off season . Venture in to the town from
The ferry port to find the shops . Some
Quirky art near the town square . Not so many people as in Santorini which made it pleasant to stroll around the alleyways and enjoy the ambience of the town . Worth taking the walk to see the castle (not a typical English castle) as interesting what the ventians did in regards to recycling the marble columns into a building. The shops were less crowded so you could take your time looking for that special gift. Lots of nice areas to take a postcard picture especially the alleyways.
Wear good walking shoes. Not suitable for wheelchairs in my opinion as narrow in areas and steps abound .
Plenty of cafes to eat at .
