Description: Our restaurant is located close to the port of Paros, on the main seaside road. It's a family business with activity for more than 30 years. Mr Stamatios Tsantanis, the owner, is a fisherman all his life. You can enjoy your meal near the sea, watching the famous rocks "Portes", with friendly service and reasonable prices.

“Amazing, fresh seafood! A must in Parikia!”

My husband hadn't been to this restaurant in 8 years (and couldn't wait to go back!), and this was my first time...it was wonderful! It was just as good as my husband remembered! Situated along the port, it's the perfect place to have dinner, watch the sunset, and enjoy true Greek culture. The freshest seafood we had on our trip! Great grilled octopus! The owner, Stamatios, is a hard-working, friendly man! This great Taverna is a must if you're in Parikia!

“Cheap and cheerful, great seafood. ”
Reviewed July 28, 2014 via mobile

Just had our first evening in Mouragio watching the sun go down... Lured in by a charming promoter (usually don't go for a hard sell but this guy was funny and the reviews positive, we were hungry and gave it a try...)

We steered clear of the frozen items which are honestly starred on the menu and enjoyed the fresh fish of the day. I had the grilled Mackrell served whole with chips and salad, my partner had the rice and veg stuffed squid (which I hear is a speciality in Greece) and both are delicious and fresh tasting. The beer was cheap and the wine local and only 8 euros a litre!

Fully recommend if you want a cheap and fresh meal for the sunset.

“Sunset and fish!”
Reviewed July 11, 2014

We spend our summers on Paros and often eat in the town of Parikia. There is a string of tavernas along the waterfront and it is not always easy to know which one to choose. However, by chance last summer we ate at the Mouragio and were so pleased by the quality and by the prices that we have become regular customers.
Not far from the port, this tavern is a family business active for almost 25 years. The owner, Stamatios Tsantanis, is a fisherman so, obviously, the specialty is fish—fresh and cooked to perfection. We also enjoy the fried zucchini and the “keftedes” variety platter including tomato balls, zucchini balls and eggplant balls.
The service is attentive and polite and, next to the sea, the atmosphere is perfect. In fact, we are going there this evening so we can eat fish as we watch the sunset.

“Set the standard for our whole trip”
Reviewed June 12, 2014

Our first night of a two-week Cyclades holiday started with dinner at Mouragio. As it was early June it wasn't busy and we could take our time to enjoy dinner of stuffed squid, Greek salad, tzatziki and moussaka. The squid was a bit overpowered by the feta and a little on the rubbery side, while the moussaka was lush. The tzatziki was among the best we've sampled and the wine was lovely. We kept some off cuts of the squid and spirited them away for the cats...we finally got our chance to quietly feed one up in Lefkes who was obviously a new mum :)
Overall it was a good introduction to the Greek taverna menu and a lovely end to a very long travel day.

“Traditional Excellence”
Reviewed June 1, 2014

Having eaten there for a week while studying abroad, I have to say service was excellent, accommodation of preferences was perfect (since our meals were planned by the school) and the meals were wholesome. Great tasting traditional Greek food, made just like at home - with love and care. Loved it!
