Description: Restaurant bar. Daphne restaurant is located in a neoclassic building at the Old Market of Paroikia, which was constructed in the 18th Century (1740). Due to the sophisticated evolution of the popular cuisine together with the best wines, served in the two beautiful gardens or the special cocktails at the bar it has become the meeting place for people who enjoy their time to the full and appreciate tradition.

We went into the Daphne as it looked a little more upmarket than the restaurants along the sea front. It is set in a delightful garden and the decor was very attractive.

Sadly the service didn't match the decor in any way. It took an age for them to take our order, they got the drinks order wrong, we had to ask for the replacement drinks again and again, and the dips which we had ordered for starters arrived after 45 minutes without the bread. After we'd got those and eaten them we then waited for our main courses. And waited. And waited.

After another hour during which we had reminded the staff at least 4 times we hadn't been served (while all the tables around had - in fact we suspected one table had actually grabbed our order) we worked out how much we owed for the wine and dips, paid for them and left. No-one seemed to care, they just shrugged a bit. No apology. Nothing.

So, unusually, we are leaving a poor review.

We enjoyed our meal at Daphne. It was slightly on the expensive side in comparison to some of the other place a in town but has a lovely atmosphere and the service is very good. Nice to dress up for.

We visited this restaurant on our fourth night in Paros after wandering past on previous nights and admiring the setting and the menu. Our starters were the eggplant tower and the feta filo parcel, both were very tasty and we thought we were off to a good start. We did also order a 3rd starter that was described in english on the menu as 'fried potatoes with feta and chilli dip. What arrived was actually a large pile of french fries and a very very small amount of dip (my husband said this dip was tasty all the same). But it wasn't the starter we had envisaged for the type of establishment we thought we were dinning at. For mains we had Cesar salad and Beef leaver with caramelised onions and mashed potatoes, The Cesar salad looked and tasted like one i could russell up at home and i had 2 very thinly sliced pieces of chicken plopped on the top, my husbands beef leaver (as spelt on the menu) was actually LIVER. The caramelised onions were NOT caramelised and the sauce was rather thin while the mashed potato was of the consistency of porridge. Two extremely poor main courses after 2 out of 3 promising and tasty starters. We nicely explained that we thought we had ordered a cut of beef not Liver and explained their spelling mistake to them and also pointed out that the chips and small dip were also poorly described. Apologies were given and we were then avoided by the 2 members of staff on duty, until a complimentary small panna cotta dessert arrived with 2 spoons. This was all very nice and not what we expected. But maybe it would have being better for us to be shown a dessert menu or at least asked if we would like dessert or coffee, allowing us to have the dessert of our choice, on the house, if that's how they wished to do to compensate us. After having some very nice meals in Paros, we felt Daphne's looked the part, but didn't deliver the quality of food or service that its rivals do.

We stayed for a few days on the island of Paros by the end of September. We found Dafne restaurant by chance strolling through the narrow streets of Parikia. The place seemed very inviting and cosy and so we stepped inside. We were not disappointed! The eggplant tower, the feta cheese in fyllo pastry with honey, the risotto with mushrooms and the creme brulee were all delicious. Staff very friendly and professional! We definitely recommend this place!

i was travelling alone looking for pleasure and happyness of life. i found more than this in Paros island, and especially at Daphni restaurant where tastes, music, and atmosphare are unique and sinonimus to none. Every night was a gourmet surpsise and hospitality something you do not find easy in our days. Daphni, i will come back soon with many friends.
