This is a beautiful resort on a beautiful island. The caring, attentive service made our stay all the more enjoyable. I'm already looking forward to our next trip to Yria.

Upon arrival we where treated to cocktails and nibblies while we filled in the arrival form, staff where so relaxed and friendly and always entertaining my three year old. Our room was lovely with all the comforts including a king size and comfy bed, they had made up a single bed for my daughter which was just as cumfy as ours. The resort ammenities where definetly five star and the pool area could definetly be used in postcards and model shoots. Our only slight disappointment was the breakfast which was included in our package. I found it to be somewhat minimal and plain for what I had experienced elsewhere. The day spa was very relaxing and I was treated to a pedicure and facial which I just loved. Will definetly recommend to friends and family and hopefully will someday go back...

Room Tip: all rooms are great

We loved staying here. The hotel staff were very knowledgeable about the island and provided so many tips on arrival. In fact - we had a small disaster on arrival at the airport as no taxis were around and they quickly assisted in sending someone down to pick us up.

The resort is about 4km from town but you can either hire a car or book a taxi or take the bus. The rooms were very spacious and clean and the fruit and welcome drink on arrival was a nice touch. The beach was only a 2 min walk but with such a great pool we opted to hang around there instead!!!

We went last August for holidays during one week.
The hotel is really beutiful, the garden, the common areas. In a sentence: an excellent hotel to be for a rest/holidays.
The hotel is located in a nice place on the island, near from Parikia (5 minutes by car). It has a beach on it and a very nice swimming pool.
The people that work on the hotel is really nice, they are waitting to attend you always with an smile on their mounth. Also the pool service and bar is excelent.
We went in a "Deluxe room" it was really nice room with very good views to the little chapel located inside the resort.
Regarding the breakfast, it was excelent, you have a menu just to choose what you would like to have and the waiter order you and they serve on the table. It´s typical greek food. We like it a lot!
The only bad thing that I would like to mention is that the bathrooms are not as a luxury hotel quality. I think they would have to change all of them. The hairdryer is really old (It has to be change). The amenities are really good, all of them of "Apivita", a local beauty company.
In my opinion, is a really nice place to stay, I´m sure you will enjoy it. A place to discover!

Room Tip: All rooms are like bungalows.

We stayed at the Yria in August with three young children. We stayed in one of the maisonettes, the ground floor of which are quite dark. The front desk staff arranged it so that we had a double bed upstairs which was brighter and the children slept downstairs so it worked well. The breakfast a la carte was lovely, get there early because it gets quite busy. The pool is beautiful and quiet. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel because there are lots of restaurants/tavernas within a 10 minute drive. They are recommended by the front desk. I would definitely recommend going to Antiparos and Aliki, which were highlights of our trip. The nearby beach which is a 5 minute walk is wonderful and definitely in our view one of the nicest on the island. Wonderful trip for us to Paros.

Great reception, beautiful pool and garden, good service, high quality toiletries. On the negative side: Rooms need to be updated, bathrooms are too small (still have marks on my legs because kept hitting myself against the bathtub/shower faucet- and I am not a big person), who uses shower curtains in 2011?. As another reviewer mentioned, I find it outrageous to pay 6 euros for a freshly squeexzed orange juice, and 4 euros for a capuchino, in a 400 dollars a night hotel!! And the tranfer from port should also be complementary. 50 euros for a 5 minute ride is ridiculous. I think owners and managers should travel more, compare with other places and readjust their prices and/or update their infrastructure. If I put pros and cons on a balance unfortunately I wouldl not go back to Yria under actual conditions.

First impression of Yria is wonderful - spectacular gardens, pool and reception area.
However , delve beneath the surface and what you get is the classic situation of the owners NOT REINVESTING PROFITS in updating rooms.
The rooms are frankly dreadful - for almost €400 a night you expect far more.
They are unquestionably not up to SLH standard.
Small rooms / old worn furniture / smells damp and musty - not fresh / dated electrical equipment / poor cupboard space / poor linens / very small inadequate bathroom / poor towels / broken shower / shower curtain in 2011? / poor plumbing / smell of drains.
I could go on , but feel I should add a few positives -
Good bathroom Ampivita shower gels and shampoo / new towels were brought quickly when requested (to mop up wet floor due to poor bathroom) / the terrace outside the room was nice.
Most of the staff were excellent.
General problems that should not occur in a hotel charging €400 -
Very poor WIFI reception / average breakfast - not serving freshly squeezed orange juice is wrong - oranges are cheap in Greece - but to charge €6 for a glass is daylight robbery / to charge €20 per person to have the average breakfast delivered to your room is beyond comprehension of anyone sane / no evening turndown service / rooms 101,102,103 have constant whir of a generator - annoying at night if you like to sleep with windows open / for a short period at night an accute smell of drains occurs - when mentioned to the reception they said this is how the drainage system works and it passes quickly (which is true) but it is most unpleasant / no comlimentary water or fruit / finding a half eaten toblerone in the minibar is not good / finding the owner sitting around drinking coffee , not acknowledging guests in any way and making no effort whatsoever is a major problem.
We will not return until these issues are addressed . What a shame.
