SCORPIO STUDIOS & APARTMENTS NAOUSSA.
Seen the rest? > Try one of the best!
Exceptional value for money self catering accommodation.
My wife and myself stayed in the studios early September, however we have also seen the apartments.
Both are spotlessly clean and remain that way due to the daily cleaning.
Towels are changed frequently and nothing is to much trouble for the owners Kiki & Michalis,
speaking of Kiki & Michalis they are the nicest people you could wish to meet, extremely friendly and helpful.
SCORPIO STUDIOS & APARTMENTS are located in a quiet area, the Studios have beautiful flower gardens, the upstairs studios have a beautiful roof garden, all are well equipped with what you will need for self catering, (although we did not cook in the studio), there is a bakery, mini markets, fishmonger, butcher, village tavernas all located close by, there is also the Naoussa winery a little further where you can sample and purchase locally made wine.
In the opposite direction there are several routes into Naoussa itself ( 6 min gentle stroll )
from the studios a short walk down the village street, turn left then first right to take the river bed route, or turn right first left which takes you into the main square.
The first route takes you past the bus stop where either every half hour or on the hour you can visit nearly all the principal towns and villages.
NAOUSSA like PARIKIA (which is bigger) has a wealth of restaurants, tavernas, cafes and shops. Away from the harbour front
there is a maze of small immaculately clean streets, small shops tavernas, village grocers, you name it.
We ate, quite a number of nights in the village, also the Pervolia and the Garden restaurant on the river bed are nice locations.
There is a small beach on the edge of Naoussa, however for sun lovers you can visit KOLIMBETHRES, MONASTIR, AGIA IRINI or SANTA MARIA for some serious beach bathing, there are several boats you can catch from Naoussa harbour which will take you to some of these beaches, other than that hire a car for complete freedom, making sure of course that you take out FULL insurance cover.
The Cathedral of Ekatontapiliani (the Church of One Hundred Doors) is a ''must see'' located in Paroikia, it was was founded in 327 AD, rebuilt in 527-565 AD, restored after a 10th century earthquake and again in 1855 then finally restored between 1959 and 1966.
From Paros it is possible to take day trips to various other islands in the Cyclades, ie NAXOS, DELOS. MYKONOS, SANTORINI, etc.
