The Museum is in one of the end towers of the old Remagen Bridge over which the Allies crossed in 1945.

The Peace Museum clearly ( in English ) explains the significance of its capture by the Allies during WW2. Although nothing remains of the bridge except the two main towers, original photographs, well displayed, are a moving record of the Allies advance and capture of the bridge and the retreat of the enemy forces. Housed in one of the towers this well maintained little museum is well worth the long walk from the town. Help the funds by acquiring a souvenir piece of the original bridge. Don't forget after your visit to call in at da Francos, another highlight in the quiet little town of Remagen.

Tower stairs round and round, bathrooms outside, interesting little museum, more interesting the story and to see the bridge. Simple museum that needs a little TLC but I did enjoy the history. Pretty outside on the river with cyclists wizzing by. Watch out as they will hit you, you hear a little ringing bell MOVE!

Very neat museum and good value. Lots of interesting artefacts and vintage photographs. The museum is located in one of the towers of the bridge and the steps are steep so take care as a friend injured his foot during a visit.

I had never heard about the bridge here or what had happened before coming to remagen. This is a simple little museum that tells the story and a little history of the town. Beware there are a lot of stairs up to the towers if you have problems walking but there are lots of chairs dotted about. At the top are plaques depicting wars since world war two finished. It is quite shocking.
