Situated on the outskirts of Monschau, this place is fantastic for anyone wanting to buy glass items. You can watch glass blowing, and even pay to let your children have a go. The glass ornaments are amazing, all different shapes sizes, colours and prices. There are other shops as well and a cafe/bar. Nice pace

The Glashütte in Monschau (next to the parking before you enter Monschau) is mainly a shop where glass items can be bought. There is also an inside restaurant. For us not very interesting, however you can walk through it after you have parked your car on your way to the nice village of Monschau.

This was a nice stop before heading into town to see some glass blowing and shop. I grew up going to the great factories in West Virginia and have also been to Venice, but my children have never seen glassblowing done live, so it was a nice experience. I was also able to shop and pick up a few gifts, which were nicely bubble wrapped and boxed for safe transport home. There are many shops inside, sort of like an indoor flea market for crafts. If you are looking for some unique gifts then this is a nice stop.

This was a great demo despite the limited English. There were no photography signs posted but the guy who did the demo told us it was ok to take photos. This demo was 30-40 mins long and it was much longer than the previous demo we'd seen in the Black Forests. It was great seeing all the things they could create! The only downside was that here the only item that you could blow and make was a plant watering bulb, we'd never use something like that so we skipped it. In the Black Forest you were able to make a flower vase, so making something that is much more all around useful would've been nice. We also found that the prices here were cheaper than the Black Forest and the owl lamps were so cute! Restaurant & shop attached although we did not eat there.
