“A wonderful culinary experience”
Reviewed October 20, 2013 via mobile

Went to this restaurant for the 1st time with friends. Service was fast & almost to perfection. Food selection was plentiful but we chose the meat platers for two. Beleve me when the food arrived at the table my mouth fell open & my eyes went wide open. There was enough meat for 4 persons people. All meats cooked to perfection the vegetables and fries enough, although the different sauces gave the fries & veg a kind of confusig taste. The drinks were served fat, cold and at very reasonable prices. The overall cost for 6 meals, 4 adults & 2 children was jusr under €120, which I consider it very cheap counting the amount of drinks we had. Only thing that bothered me was that they did not have any internet connection, but had seating area outside under tent & with heater for smokers. perfection all perfection.

“Just perfect!”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

This is a beautiful restaurant with great customer service and amazing food! Five of us went to eat here while on holiday and staying with my brother and his wife, who live locally.
The main building is a converted traditional half-timbered house with a thatched roof. The owner has added a very tastefully designed modern conservatory and a large patio. We were able to sit outside under large umbrellas despite the approaching rain and thunderstorm. It was very atmospheric!
The staff were very friendly and helpful and with my husband not speaking German the staff had no problem conversing in English.
The prices for individual dishes appear a little high at first. However, you certainly get value for money! The portions are very generous and the quality of the food is just outstanding. Our dishes ranged from Matjes mit Bratkartoffeln, to Rib-eye steak, Roast Beef mit Remouladensauce and a proper Kalbsschnitzel. For afters there were Crème Brulee and Rote Gruetze.
We will certainly be back!

“After Renovation very nice Restaurant”
Reviewed October 18, 2011

We have been at the "Dorfkrug" the first time after the renovation and extension and we were possitively surprised. The atmosphere is nice, cosy and due to the open fire place warm. The srevice is excellent. The chef offered an "Amuse Bouche" and explained some of his ideas, the waitresses were very supporting, nice and friendly.
The choise of food is fromtraditional german cuisine to mediterane food and all we had was very good. The fish was fresh, the duck was soft and juicy. The wine menue is good but nut over exciting. Special is the Smokers Lounge where they offer some cigars and and you can sit and have a nice digesive.
We will go there again soon
