Visited here with wife and 5 and 3 year old kids. Booked with Eurocamp. Would defininitely stay here again. Very small although spacious, quiet site with great views into the Black Forest. Well maintained. Childrens play areas on site. The swimming pool is offsite but only a 5 minute walk away near the entrance to the site. It is a public pool and cost us €1.50 each when visiting after 5pm and was a bit more expensive before then. The Eurocamp photos do not do it justice. There is a 50m pool with diving boards, a shallower pool with slide for younger children and also a small splash pool for really young children. Good changing facilities and large grassy area to sit/playThere is an excellent restaurant onsite. Not very expensive but great food. There is a supermarket approx 1km from the site and so no shop on site. We visited several places from here including Europa Park, Titisee, Gengenbach, Triberg and the Galaxy World swimming complex from here. Alos enjoyed cycling around the nearby villages with kids on traffic free cycle paths. Highly recommended if you want to explore the area and are looking for a relaxing break.

I went in this camping for 3 nights with my wife and my 3 children.
It was really a great experience. All the persons working int this camping are very nice.
The caravan pitch are very big and easy to use.
The camping is very proper and particularly the sanitary place. It's also a very calm place to live.
This camping is really well located to go to Europaprk, 10 min driving.

Camping highly recommended

We stayed here for 3 nights (in August 2013) as a stopover on the way back from Lake Garda.
The Campsite
The campsite here is lovely, it is very small, quiet and peaceful. There are a few very very small play areas and some table tennis tables. The site restaurant looked fine, but again quiet and small (and no real views from the small bar). The pool complex, just outside the camp site is absolutely fantastic, it is large, has several pools, diving boards, and a slide, with huge grassy areas. We stayed in a 3 bed classic caravan with Eurocamp. The size of the van was great and in some ways had a more spacious and a better layout than the more modern 3 bed caravans. The caravan was on a large size pitch, with a large grass area and a lovely view of the forest. In fact nearly all the Eurocamp vans were in a good location. We were a little disappointed with the cleanliness of the van - we knew it was an older van, but i would still expect it clean. The surfaces were clean, but in corners and under beds etc were not great and there were a few ants, cockcroaches etc (the cleanliness score is for the campsite not the Eurocamp van). We were also disappointed with the couriers, who were generally disinterested and seemed to lack any knowledge of the area.

The Black Forest
I'm not sure that the campsite is in the best location for the Black forest. If you are interested in Europark, which is very close then it's ideal. However if your more into walking etc then i'm not sure this is the best location. Herbolzheim is at the edge of the forest, the town itself is nice enough, but not particularly quaint. Given ours was a short stopover, we were hoping to do some walking from the park with some picnics etc. We did not research the area before we left (as we thought we would be able to pick up leaflets etc when we arrived. However the only leaflets available from Eurocamp, Park Reception and local tourist board are for museums etc, that generally charge to go in and were a good drive away (we weren't looking for this). We asked the courier who told us "there are lots of walks...", but couldn't tell us where. Eurocamp information and the courier advised us to go to Triberg !!! - i would avoid this place at all costs. The waterfalls are here, but they are not particularly special and you have to pay for the pleasure of following a crowded walking route to see them.

We stumbled across a lovely place called Glotteral (about 25 mins from Frieberg), this was a small village we drove through and turned left at the end of the village. Came across a map with three labelled walking routes - one up to a viewpoint (about 7 Km one way) and another along the valley floor. This was a pleasant afternoon walk and some great picnic spots. There is also a lovely pool here. We also went to Friberg which was a pleasant morning.
On the whole the Black Forest was pretty, had lovely views and seemed a lovely area, although i feel we did not really get to grips with the area (two days is not long and we struggled o get the information we wanted.) I would strongly recommend that you do your research and purchase a guide book or two before you arrive, this is especially the case if you want to follow cycle routes and walking routes. There are things to do and see here, you just need to know about them before you arrive.
