“THE ice-cream place”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

This is the ideal place for an ice-cream to take away.
There are various and surprising tastes (limoncello, cuberdon, …), the quality of the ice-cream is excellent and the prices are still low in comparison with the quantity received.
The main issue was ... not going there too often.

“Ice Cream or I Scream?”
Reviewed April 29, 2013

I really don't know what's going on here, but this little run-of-the-mill ice cream parlour does NOT deserve to be number 1 (as it currently is) in this or any seaside town. Nobody greeted us when we arrived, when the waitress (also running the shop) did come over (ages and ages) to give us the awful suede covered menus she gave us a frosty reception. Ok, frosty is appropriate for an ice cream parlour I suppose but try a bit harder. Incidentally, while we were waiting for our orders, we could see people at the shop front getting served much quicker than us. That's not how it should work. And the ice creams? Nothing to write home about. My Grand Marnier was uninspired - two balls of vanilla some bits of orange swimming (and melting) in Grand Marnier. The banana waffles could have been constructed by a 5 year old. In fact I saw better (that is to say - more artistic) ices and deserts being consumed at a number of other terraced venues after we left.

I will go further. Does an ice cream parlour merit an entry as a restaurant in Trip Advisor? And, like Wikipedia, can such an entry be challenged and removed? I'd had lunch at The Casino (will review that another time) just 2 minutes walk away. There is no comparison between that, a grown up proper restaurant, and this shop with tables and chairs. Absurd.
