We stayed in Logis accommodation, Het Manntje, situated 50 metres from the Hotel Cecil. The accommodation we were in didn't provide breakfast but had an arrangement with the Cecil to provide it. On arrival we were met by a friendly, English speaking member of staff who explained what was available ( typical continental breakfast) and to call on him if we needed any further assistance. All food was fresh and neatly presented including hot boiled eggs cooked to perfection unlike the luke warm, hard boiled bullets you usually get..
I got speaking to our host and it turned out he was a career soldier that had recently retired from the army having served as a paratrooper in many war zones. He could speak German, English, French and Belgian and was working at the Cecil in order to keep himself active. It was an absolute pleasure to make his acquaintance.
Because our visit was a last minute decision we were unable to find preferred accommodation in De Panne and settled for the Logis premises referred to previously in this review. Our next visit will definitely include a stop over in the Cecil.
It's worth noting that parking in and around the Cecil is not permitted on Friday evenings or daytimes Saturday because of the local market being held in the Square. There is however free parking within 200 metres on these days.
Hopefully we will be able to comment on the accommodation at the Cecil following our next visit to De Panne.

White wine not cold, mussels poorly prepared, fish prepared in too much butter,... Waiter was friendly but unsavvy, not aware of any information on the dishes. Not worth the 100 euro (2 adults, one 7-year old). The hotel we did not check, but the restaurant is a no-go.

Room Tip: probably much better restaurants in the neighborhood for that price.

We booked in to the Hotel Cecil in De Panne, Belgium for one night stay during a break around France and Belgium. It is well positioned in the corner of the town square. The large square is a car park which was nearly empty for all of our stay - this is because it is 15euros for four hours! I asked the helpful receptionist what the options were he said they provided car parking nearby for 8 euros OR find a space in the adjacent street for free. No brainer.
Clean if cramped little hotel without a lift but with a stair chair lift if really needed. Clean and bright room but VERY small and cramped. There is a small bathroom with only a shower, which suits me anyway.
Quiet nights sleep and a decent breakfast in the hotels restaurant.

Room Tip: All rooms seem ok

My wife and I did not stay here but went in for an early afternoon tea on a sunny Saturday. We sat by the window to see vendors packing up at the end of market trade.

We ordered a pistachio ice-cream, a waffle and a coffee which we both enjoyed very much.

The waiter was very attentive and he has a very good sense of humour.

It's nice and quiet which made us feel very comfortable, compared to the alfresco coffee shops on the high street.

The reception was great very friendly and helpful multi lingual. The bedroom I chose was for my son and I and was a family room, double down and single bunk above, cosy but clean and well set out given The space available In the building. Washing facilities were fine. The location was great because we were there for the 3 day cycle race and it is on the square. Would recommend for a short stay, the town is good and lots of nice restaurants
