The service is not that friendly but very Profesional... We are in the Flanders side so not much more to expect.
The food is amazing! The best restaurant from the various I have been. Do not know how expensive since both times did not pay but it must be really expensive. Wine selection really good.
If you have the money go for it!!

Thank Nuno P

What do you expect from a restaurant that receives a coveted Michelin star ?Of course faultless food. Excellent service. And, is it asking too much, even value for money.

Michel just scrapes by. Negatives first. The attractive terrace is somewhat spoiled by the noise from the nearby motorway. The service, from some of the staff, can be somewhat "heavy " . You are paying good money to be "relaxed" . And the cooking is not faultless-e.g. undercooked asparagus, and standard amuse-bouches on a recent visit.

But the modern -style restaurant is attractive. The sommelier knows his job ( well he should !) ,and gives helpfull comments. The background music stays background. And, most important of all,the proportions served are not minimal. The request for a cheeseboard-very difficult in Belgium- produced a good effort of,unfortunately, fridge-cooled products.

Coffee comes with, again, underwhelming amuse-bouches. This is Belgium, where chocolate can be more than excellent, so why not go for that?

Is Michel good value for money ? Just about..

Would i return ?. Yes.

We tried this restaurant during Resto days to celebrate a family event. Some of our family members had never been to a Michelin star restaurant before and that was a great opportunity to get an introduction. The overall setting is nice, a bit plain but with a touch of sophistication. The food was good: fair size plates, interesting flavour combinations, several in-between amuse bouches and a nice wine to pair with. Unfortunately, the service was cold and impersonal. It felt a bit annoying and didn't help creating a festive celebration we had hoped for. Great food combined with great service make a great restaurant, the later part was obviously missing at Michel.

Quit location with terras in the summer. Enough space between the tables. Traditional food but very well prepared and all fres, with some new try outs during the appetizers. Professional and frendly service. Also nice wine chart(tablet) but ask the sommelier for the ones which are not on the list. For dessert try the home made vanila ice, or even better a Dame Blanche.

I went for lunch. The restaurant is in a very nice building and in a sunny day the patio has to be lovely, but when I went it was raining... Interiors are a bit tacky, with golden columns and appareils + chairs with optical fabric. Service is competent and very professional, they are so nice that they leave you a good impression of the restaurant even if there are shortcomings (see below). As a start, it's slow: two hours for a 4 services menu which was frankly excessive. I was having lunch alone i.e. nobody to talk to. The food is OK but not surprising for flavour or originality. One of the amuse bouches of boudin noir was excellent. The starter of carpaccio was good, but the sauce a tad too lemony for my taste and inappropriate for the wine they served with. The fish was OK and the meat was on the unsavoury side. The wine menu is not a bargain at 35 euros (includes an aperitif and water). It's just two wines, a white and a red, both quite basic and undistinguished. I went with a restoday offer and maybe they are better when one goes for the full monty, but all in all, from a MIchelin starred I am used to more satisfaction.
