Small, bang in town centre, family run, nicely finished - very quaint, very clean, comfortable. Little pricey for what it is but if you find yourself in Turnhout - this is the only place to consider . Book well in advance though as the alternatives are few and this is well known.

The three-person Ter Driezen staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel, which used to be the mayor's residence, has three floors of rooms, all decorated differently; living room/lobby, dining room/restaurant, sitting room/bar and outdoor court behind the hotel, which is a nice quiet area to have a meal or conversation. I am NOT a pet person and they have a beagle, but the dog was kept behind a gate near the kitchen/outdoor court most of the time and I never heard it barking.

The linens and bathroom were very clean. The Internet connection was a little sporadic, but worked well most of the time. A lot of food was prepared everyday for breakfast. Though I didn't eat much, what I had was fine - eggs, cheese, fruit, espresso and juice. Throughout the day, food can be ordered for room service.

The hotel is just one block from the town square and there are many restaurants, shops, bakeries and pubs nearby. And, if the weather is good, it's about a 10-minute walk to the train station.

Small city hotel situated in the historical center in the city center of Turnhout. All rooms are individually arranged. The hotel is very cosy with nice lobby and bar area, great breakfast. The bathrooms are quite outdated, but very clean. Domestic and cosy atmosphere. WiFi in all rooms. Number of good restaurants in a walking distance.

I had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. I couldn't immediately find it and parking was not too easy as there were a lot of road works in the town centre but the hotel manager came out and directed me to a parking space. A log fire was burning in the reception area which made it very cosy. My room was comfortable - the bathroom could do with an update but it was perfectly clean and it functioned perfectly. Breakfast was a buffet, including freshly squeezed orange juice and freshly baked bread. The dining room looks over a very pretty courtyard garden. The only downside is that the window in my bedroom had single-glazing only, so even although I was at the side of the hotel, I still heard some traffic noise - it was very limited though. I will definitely stay again

Although in the centre, this hotel is peaceful and very convenient for walking in the town. My room was on the ground floor and had a small table and two chairs to enjoy the outside. The breakfast is good, there is a lovely lounge with fireplace and books to read. Wireless is free, and the owners are very helpful indeed; they stored my bicycle safely.
There is a nice small dog who sometimes follows you around the public rooms. They have parking just a few meters away off the street.

Worth a mention is Lizio just opposite; a Michelin-listed Italian with contemporary decor and excellent modern Italian food.

I stayed at the Ter Driezen for two weeks back in April 2009. This is a wonderful hotel, and the best hotel for miles. We actually ended up staying in one of their apartments across the street up on the fourth floor. Wonderful facility. The breakfast each morning was terrific. The room was incredibly clean. If I had to complain about one thing, it's that the prices are a bit higher than other hotels in town.

We rented bikes at Van Der Water down in Kasterlee. It's a short bus ride down to pick up the bikes. Go over to the Tourist Bureau (in Turnhout) and pick up the Fiets Netwerk maps (Bike Network maps). There FANTASTIC places to ride with your bicycle.

WiFi worked great.

I stayed here for 5 days on a business trip. I had a ground floor room whose front door opened on to a beautiful courtyard. The room was nice and clean, it had wi-fi that worked flawlessly (I used it with Skype on my iPod Touch to keep in touch with family), the bed was comfortable, it was quiet despite a noisy fair going on a short distance away, the location was close to the center of town, many excellent restaurants (no other type in Belgium anyway) nearby, good breakfast; they even provided a very early breakfast on my last day there as I had a very early flight out. Nice place.
