We loved our time at Haus Hepi--beautiful location, clean comfortable rooms, fantastic food and friendly helpful hosts. Larry and Lisa offered great advice on where to go in the area and welcomed us back each day with a cold beer. Thanks Larry and Lisa for sharing your beautiful home with us!

One of the most warm and wonderful B & B's we've ever been to. Very, very accommodating hosts with excellent food and cozy comfortable rooms. The view from our balcony was breathtaking!! We've already recommended this to many of our friends---can't wait to go back.

We can highly recommend this accommodation. It is so clean and rooms are simply but tastefully furnished with everything you need. The hosts are so kind and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Breakfasts are superb and time is completely flexible. Evening meals are home cooked and excellent.

The most beautiful views I have ever seen. Superb B & B and hosts. Great food, cozy rooms and decor. Very new bikes. No granny bikes here. I would go back to stay again for a week and use this B & B as our home base and travel out to other towns to bike and hike.
We loved it!

This was our third trip to Austria at half term - chosen as we wanted to avoid the extortionate prices (on and off the slopes) of France - and, just as importantly, we wanted to avoid the lift queues and heaving slopes of the major resorts.
So we chose this lovely chalet based on trip advisor reviews and we were not disappointed!
We arrived late (9.30pm) but were greeted warmly and got our first taste of the exceptional food - served despite the late hour and accompanied by some good quality local beer and wine.
Lisa and Larry were hugely hospitable - friendly, helpful and even skiied with us as a family one day, which was great as our boys had become a little bored of the slow pace of their parents - Lisa and Larry's ski racer son soon had them whizzing down the slopes!
The bedrooms - beautifully decorated, spacious and well appointed, with great views and a TV (not that we used it much) Clean and modern ensuite.
Wi Fi - free and available in the bedrooms.
Guest lounge - comfy sofas and chairs, fantastic views and a great place to enjoy the free afternoon cakes / biscuits, and coffee / tea / gluhwein.
The food - highlight of the week (and that's saying something...) - beautifully prepared, tasty, proper restaurant quality stuff - and LOADS of it! The kids enjoyed the food too - Larry was happy to adjust the menu to our tastes, and we knew in advance what the weeks menu was, so we could ask for changes etc if needed (which we didn't really need to as the choice was excellent!)
The skiing - it's better really if you have a car (drive from the UK is very do-able - or hire at the airport - 1 hour from Salzberg) as then you can explore the different ski areas (they are covered by the same pass - E500 for a weekly family ski pass - much cheaper than the "major" resorts) Krippenstien is the local mountain - one incredible, long (11km) ski run from the top with excellent snow quality when we were there, or alternatively plenty of off piste opportunities (get a guide....)
Dachstein West is the nearest "big" resort - 140km+ of varied and well groomed terrain (several linked villages) with slalom, timed speed run, snow park etc - mostly red runs, so maybe better for those who are not complete beginners, though there are nursery slopes, ski school etc. We were there half term week, and didn't encounter any lift queues AT ALL! The slopes were pleasantly empty, and the mountain restaurants excellent value (about half the price of major French resorts) with tasty authentic Austrian food.
All in all, an excellent holiday - we will be back!

I spent a fantastic time at Haus Hepi, together with 9 friends, in the winter of 2012-2013. We had a wonderful week - had a great time chatting, relaxing and enjoying the fantastic meals cooked by Larry. I have rarely had such a great food! Anyone who loves food - this is the place! The chalet is very cozy and the owners - Larry and Lisa - are very very nice and welcoming. I felt like at home! I also learned to ski - the bus connection is very good, either to Dachstein-West or, closer, to Krippenstein (by car of course is much faster). The village is calm and offers absolutely wonderful surroundings. One can also walk or drive to the nearby locations, Hallstatt lake offers breathtaking views! For the New Year's night - we enjoyed a fantastic fireworks show in the village! I highly recommend Haus Hepi! and I definitely look forward to come back for another winter or summer vacation!

Me and my wife and our friends very simply happy to spend our vacation at Haus Hepi. The food is exclusive. The host is friendly. The cat is shy and modest. We all enjoyed our stay. will recommend to all who seek a quite and cozy place.
what's not quite convenient is relatively far (~20km) to dachstein west, but this is subjective. We didn't have a car, and used ( free!!!) bus which runs not very frequent, I think once per half/hour. Don't recall exactly.
