Beautiful hotel, service amazing, food was even better. Would love to visit in skiing season.
Only thing that spoilt it was you could smoke indoors, you forget how the smoke lingers.
My bedroom was stunning and had amazing views of the village

This has been our 3rd visit to this area and to this hotel as a family with young kids. As my wife doesn't ski, she enjoyed the great SPA amenities as kids & I could enjoy the rides.
Rooms are large, well appointed, truly luxurious for a ski resort. Bathroom and the fittings are in excellent shape, albeit some furniture pieces are tired/worn out. Each room has at least one terrace with all round splendid mountain view (we recommend a suite or semi suite though for an extra space and 2nd bathroom). Wifi is free and runs well, all rooms have a nice entry zone with a 2nd door into the living space for better noise protection. In fact, we did not have any issues related to the noise from either outside nor from the neighbors/ inside.
Reception is very professional and well appointed, however lacks local friendliness described as a must for other high end hotels. It seems that younger people and families with kids are treated as the 2nd class, as the staff is very stubborn and shows impatience when kids behave as the kids should do...
Restaurant is run very professionally, however there is a clear face control for the dinner. Somehow the management expects you to bring a dinner suite on top of bulky ski gears and kids toys for a ski vacation. Families with kids, eastern europeans and brits wearing t-shirts get the tables at the very end of the restaurant, as they do not 'deserve' to be seated near the main piano area. This place is all about the Entourage!
Food is well presented, however the starter buffet is always the same and honestly dull (one fails to ignore that most of the clientele stops using it after the 2nd night). Main course tastes different from one night to another, showing a clear dependence on who is the chef tonight.
Waiters are quite attentive and learn fast your habits and even the kids food preferences.
Breakfast is rather on an average side, I would say fitting the 4* level in Europe (I can judge as spend more than 100 nights p.a. in the hotels), but the absence of an egg station fails it further.
SPA is indeed the best in that valley, especially the adult level. One recommendation would be to have a separate kids area/pool, as it gets noisy and messy after 5 p.m. as everyone is down to the same pool.
Underground car park and proximity to the main lift beat other hotels of this level in this area, as well as the fact that many staff members are well trained and retained for 10-15 years with the hotel (could recognize us after 6 year break in fact).
In a sum: professional, classy, safe, sustainable high end experience, which lacks a bit of warmth of Austrian people and love to the kids.

We use to come to Grand Park Hotel in every year for treatment and hollyday and it is allways a pleasure to be here. The treatment is very good, the radon bath is wonder of nature, the marvelous hands of Mrs. Renate Gasperini and Mrs.Adriana Toscano make me to forget any pain, many thanks! The rooms are very friendly and confortable, the view is wonderful. The restaurant is very good -the food is very high quality, very tasty prepared with a big fantasy-in every day you can choose from 3diferent meat(one is fish ,one is austrian traditional and one is meat) . The food is a realy masterpiece of art and the service is very profesional and nice. As it is wellknown, Austria is famous about hospitality ,but even here , this hotel is in the highest standards .

Even the travel to/from Bad Hofgastein (Austria) is not very easy with public means of transportation, for a family/group going by car/bus could be an unforgetable escape from the cities! A mountain resort and a five stared hotel it's the best recipe for an excellent time spent there during holidays of for businesses!

Room Tip: Rooms to the mountains offer great views in the morning!

At first sight it didn't look to be my sort of hotel - traditional, classic, old fashioned decor, too smart for the area and actually in the town. But I have been wrong before and wrong here also. It is all those things but the staff take any stuffiness away from it...they are friendly and efficient which they should be...but they are also kind, thoughtful and helpful - and they are fun. Nothing is too much trouble and they seem to know your name even before you check in, and within minutes know your likes and dislikes. It is of course helped by being in one of the most beautiful valleys in Austria...and when the sun is out it's heavenly. The little town itself is charming while the town of Bad Gastien is a short drive away...this is a glorious place, a belle epoque masterpiece, no wonder it was known as the St Moritz of Austria, but sadly is now dying on its feet . It needs investment and care.
Visit the area in summer, enjoy the garden of the hotel - small but beautifully maintained, the spa and thermal centre but most of all the environs. Head for the mountains - the bubble and chairlifts all work, the walks are stunning and the views spectacular...and then return to the hotel for rest and sustenance. The food is excellent but a five course dinner every evening is not for me...however everyone else attacked it with gusto. Breakfast is terrific and between 2 and 5 p. each day a buffet of sweet and savoury dishes is on offer which is both delicious and generous. My room was large and airy with a balcony with magnificent views of the mountains - my only gripe that while shampoo is provided there was no conditioner...a practice all too common with 5 star hotels.
