We found the Lechtalerhof friendly and remarkable value for money. In particular, the food and dinner service, whilst not flawless were really good and I found myself judging meals on a half board package against meals I have had in very serious restaurants - which isn't really a fair point of comparison but indicative of the standards generally being achieved.

Warth claims fantastic annual snowfall which didn't apply when we were there so the skiing wasn't all it might have been. Even with the new lift, I wouldn't reccommend Warth as an access to point to the Lech / Zurs system.

Good hotel though.

A second stay in this hotel (Jan 2014) confirmed the view we had of it after our first visit in Jan 2013. We very much enjoyed it. If your criterion of 4 star quality is ultra-modern decor and all the latest mod cons then you may be disappointed. If good food, friendly and efficient service and a warm, family atmosphere are more important to you then it will be more to your taste. The furnishings are traditional Austrian, with a lot of wood, and beige tiles in the bathrooms, but the mid-priced rooms are very spacious, with seating area and good storage, perhaps somewhat over-warm, but the temperatures outside were unseasonably mild when we were there. Breakfasts were excellent, with delicious cold meats and bread as well as the usual juices and cereals - the variety was not hugely extensive, but this is not a large hotel. The five-course dinner, with your main course selected at breakfast-time, was outstanding, with interesting and beautifully presented dishes and not too large portions (although you could always eat large quantities from the salad bar). Service by the Brenner family and their staff was excellent, with only the odd incidence of slow service in the restaurant when it was very busy. The wi-fi problem had been solved by the time we left and was working in both the lounge area and bedrooms. The (adult-only) spa area - steam and sauna - had been renovated for 2014 and was a wonderful place to relax. The small but attractive pool area has a glass screen separating it from the spa and relaxing area so that the noise of children in the pool is well-contained. Drinks in the front bar (as mentioned in another post) had to be asked for specially; this area could certainly be made more user-friendly as the cocktails are worth sampling. The hotel gives notice of non-ski activities in the afternoons in their daily breakfast bulletin (in German).
Warth in 2014 is very different to Warth in 2013: the link to Lech/Zurs has tripled the skiable area but made it very much busier. Warth is much easier to get to in the winter from the largest nearby conurbations than Lech - hence lots of buses and full car parks. However, this has not made the pistes too overcrowded, and those staying in Warth now have lots more pistes to cover (but the off-piste gets skied-out sooner). The walk from the ski-room door to the lift entrance takes about four minutes; the (downhill) return much less. We had very good private lessons from the ski-school. The ski-shop is in the same building as the hotel. The village itself remains very quiet - NOT for those looking for night-life. There is one Spar supermarket and a sausage/cheese-maker serving excellent lunches at communal tables. Food on the mountain is of the usual excellent Austrian quality.

Room Tip: Category B "Komfort-Doppel" rooms have bath and sofa bed. "Familien-Junior" sui...

Just back from a week in this lovely family run hotel (Dec 28th- Jan 6th).
Ok so its not modern but I never got the impression it was going for sleek boutique look.
It feels authenticly Austrian, the staff are warm , friendly and with 3 difficult children as part of our group they were more than accomodating from every possible angle.
They really need to sort the WIFI in the rooms out , you have to go to the lounge to get a signal and when you do it is fairly weak. It is ski in ski out if you leave from your room... or the boot room but not from the main entrance of the hotel though. The spa may be small but the apple wrap is highly recommended as is a massage from Sonja.
The food is fab as is the wine! The front desk team and the restuarant/bar staff we really great and couldnt have done more for us. Warth is a small place but there are a few good places to apre ski- Wellnesshoff is nice for lunch in the sun. Also if you are not a skiier and fancy some snow shoeing...ask for Willie Fritz in the WarthSki School he is excellent.

Room Tip: Download your movies to your ipad etc before you leave for your trip that way not having much wifi w...

We have stayed in many 4 star plus hotels throughout the Alps including Lech and St Anton and this was the most disappointing stay we have experienced (by a long way).

We go skiing as a family for 3 days just before Christmas each year and have stayed in some very nice hotels and resorts which provide a great start to the festive break. This hotel and resort failed to deliver.

The hotel is very outdated and old fashioned. The bedroom and bathroom decor are stuck in the 1970's with very poor quality toilet paper, tissues and toiletries etc. The spa/pool area is small and drab. The lounge area resembled a nursing home. There was a distinct lack of warmth with very few Xmas decorations, not even a tree.

The hotel website describes it as ski in/ski out which is a blatant lie! You have to walk about 100m up a hill to reach the ski area.

The restaurant decor is okay and the dining service was good/pleasant. The breakfast selection and quality was average at best; far below what I would expect from a 4 star hotel. Dinner was a complicated affair with several unusual courses which usually were never finished by the family members. By day 2 the children were ordering bespoke food.

The bar at the front of the hotel looked new and modern however they rarely turned the lights on and locked the main entrance door to stop people from coming in off the road. Bizarre! The hotel was crying out for some life (despite it being full) yet they did not want customers using it. We had to ask one of the bar men from the dining restaurant to open it up for us one night; he showed us in via a side door and eventually put some lights on. He explained he had to man the restaurant bar and didn't have time to work both bars. The cocktails he made were excellent but it was not a relaxing experience.

The hotel rooms are too warm and we had to turn off all the heating however it was still too warm. When my wife spoke to the manager she agreed however she didn't want to turn the heating down in case they got accused of penny pinching! What utter small minded nonsense.

The beds were very hard and the whole family did not sleep well.

On the day of departure they rang to demand I attend reception to settle payment as the manageress was going out! They then tried to significantly overcharge me and the manageress tried to blame the error on the computer and then on the administrator. The manageress then proceeded to give the administrator a very strong and public telling off whilst I was still in reception. Once the bill was corrected I paid the manageress by credit card only for the administrator to come along and say she should not have accepted a credit card payment as the bank charges are too high! It was a bit like a comedy sketch however another example of poor customer service and a small minded approach to hotel travellers in 2013.

Warth is very quiet; only a handful of hotels which seemed just as dead as the Lechtaler Hof. We could not find anywhere to go for an off piste drink. No central square and no Xmas decorations. The skiing was good and the link to Lech will no doubt bring in more business. I do not think Warth is equipped to deal with this nor do they have the attitude to change accordingly.

I would rate the hotel as 2 star at best and cannot understand all the previous positive reviews. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone who is used to 4 star hotels.

Our best experience in Vorarlberg, so far (and we've stayed in lots of places varying from simple Bed&Breakfast to the 5***** Warther Hof, just next to Lechtalerhof).

We got everything we expected; a friendly and personal service, clean and comfortable rooms, a top location - opposite the skilift and slopes - good food, nice wines, a modern lounge bar, perfect wellness area including a swimming pool, sauna and steambath, ski-shop next doors, free parking, free wireless internet, and great staff.
This is one of the smallest 4**** hotels in Warth, which guarantees a cozy atmosphere and the Brenner family makes you feel very welcome. After 1 day, the staff already knew our preferences when it comes to wines, drinks, etc.
We only stayed for 3 nights, but wished we could have stayed for a whole week !
The location is superb, right opposite the skilift, in the quiet town of Warth, but the ski area gives access to the whole Arlberg area, over Lech all the way to St Anton.
