We are actually living in Graz/Styria and are willing to spend a decent amount of money for extraordinary food. As you may know, the concentration of star restaurants in Styria is dense and we have tried most of these restaurants. In contrast the number of excellent restaurants in Carinthia is rather small which limits competition. Thus we were very curious: Carame is rated as a 2 star restaurant and we were entranced by the quality of this 4 course menu (plus 2 complimentary courses). Compared with 2 star restaurants in Styria, Carame is, no doubt, a 3 star. We have been served with an impeccable series of local foods and we have tried to make it not too easy for the chef: Homemade pasta, risotto, fish and a traditional beef dish which chefs elsewhere avoid since it is a challenge to make it right. Sweets can cope with every of the famous Austrian pastry shops and the cheese course was amazing too. For this palatine ball we have paid €140.- plus drinks and every Euro was worth it.
