“Lovely meal and company”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

Red Ginger was the best Western meal I've had while in Thailand and definitely the best on the island. The owners were a blast to talk to and the ribs/mashed potatoes were excellent. Don't forget that there are a few rooms to rent out and to try other dishes on the menu-- specifically the curry carrot soup.

“Best spot on the island!”
Reviewed July 7, 2013

Red Ginger has not only amazing food, but it's a great spot to hang out and meet some amazing people. Go here for the ribs, but make sure you try other dishes because it's that good! I had an amazing curry carrot soup, a nice mix of Thai and western. I also had the red orange and green salad; amazing! The rib dish is HUGE, so come hungry. They also have some rooms to stay in if you're looking for a place to stay where you're be surrounded by lovely people and delicious food.Thank you, Roger and family, for having us for a lovely meal which felt like it was served in your home. We will be back!

“Lovely service!”
Reviewed July 6, 2013 via mobile

A few friends and I went along for dinner at the Red Ginger a couple of days ago and we had a lovely time! The famous ribs indeed were wonderful! And what a generous serving as well! The lovely hosts offered to make me a noodle soup as I wasnt feeling well. It wasn't even on the menu but was also very good! Make sure you try the choc brownie with coconut ice cream and mango as well!

“I'd go back to koh samet just for the ribs!!”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

Four of us (fresh out of college) were walking down main street. Pretty late at night, most places were shut. Roger spots us hungry and tired and asks us whether we needed directions and offered to cook us up a meal. Ended up having dinner there.

BEST DECISION EVAAR.

Never ever had ribs like that, Divine. Welcome break from the Thai food we'd been eating all week. Ordered a portion of Thai curry too which was also great. Great host, among all that the island has to offer this is right up there. He did mention he'd be heading back to canada for a few months tho. Headed to ploy after that epic meal. Great night!

“great break for thai/west fusion food”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

don't know how i never spotted this restaurant on previous trips to Samet. In week five of the trip it was nirvana to eat mashed potatoes in a mushroom gravy. My wife (vegetarian) my daughter and I are all different eaters and we were all real happy with our meals. A fellow Canadian, now expat, Roger joined us to chat and we enjoyed a real interesting conversation about his days of film editing in Canada. It was a treat to see him daily enjoying beach strolls with his cute little one.
