“Naga bungalows”

This place comes at a very affordable price and provides accommodation with no thrills but perfectly adequate. There are cold showers with plenty of water pressure. The post office next door has secure lockers to leave your valuables. The staff have limited command of English but are generally helpfull and friendly.
It's in a great location, near the beach, the bars (can get a little noisy) and everything you could need.
If you are on a tight budget I'd definitely recommend it. However if you have a little more money to spend then there are other places nearby with AC and private bathrooms.

I begrudge complaining when the room was so cheap, 300 baht. But the bungalow we had was seemingly in the worst position possible. We had a bar directly to our left and 2 bars to the front with nothing around us to save us from the noise up until the early hours of the morning, around 4am. It was maybe a poor choice on our half because these bars were the only ones that were open to that time on our side of the island!! The bungalows themselves were basic but we expected that, small room, hard double bed, fan and a holey mosquito net. Was basically on the beach though and close to restaurants and did a good breakfast. No wifi but had an internet room. The showers were pretty bad and needed replacing aswell. If your partying every night then you would be okay but if not and you would like to sleep without hearing 3 different types of music playing, an interesting mix of Egyptian bagpipes, pop and reggae then maybe you should stay somewhere else or just avoid bungalow 7! Overall i wouldn't recommend staying here, there are plenty of other options for a few hundred baht more in better locations.

There were holes in our mosquito net. I awoke at 2am with about 30 mosquitos eating us alive, this was after we had covered ourselves in bug spray. The showers are also in dire need of reservation. It is basically like camping and your trip will be worth so much more if you spend a few extra baht and go somewhere else.

This place is as cheap as a place can be but offers a great location and a cool beach bar. The staff is friendly and the bungalows are clean. The only problem are the beds which are as hard as stone! In general Naga is definitely worth a recommoedation.

We had a fan-room, the cheapest, clean and nice. The showers outside need serious renovation as the ceiling seems to fall. The toilets (turkish style) were clean each time.
The lady at the reception seems bored and lazy all the time, its true.
Nights were noisy until 2-3 oclock from their disco-bar.
Good location, beach is beautiful and the restaurants around are good with acceptable prices.

Its a saving-money place, perfect for the last part of the vacation when you finish very quickly counting them. :).

This place is so cheap, reserve a room with Air Conditioning and just enjoy yourself. Bring plenty of bug repellent, it's more like camping than anything, but no one bothers you and the folks are nice. The only valuable I had was my passport so I didn't pay much attention to the security as others have mentioned.

The BIGGEST detractor: Filthy dogs running wild all over the place. Seriously, some of them are scary and one of the females was in heat so all the males were fighting each other. The dogs actually had sex on our porch and yes, there were fluids. GROSS.

Room Tip: Pay for the Air Con.

Naga Bungalows seamed a great place for us. Comfortable, affordable bungalows, a decent restaurant and a nice bar on the other side of the road. But that's where our problems started. The staff at Naga Bar was really friendly and we spent some time there at Fridaynight, when they had muay thai boxing games going on there. Back then, the staff was already too interested in our camera etc. On Saturdaynight we were eating in the Naga restaurant and the Naga staff was constantly walking up and down to the rooms, but we were'nt paying attention to that. When we got back in the rooms we saw a Naga staff member walking away from our appartement en when we got in we found out that someone forced the window of our appartment and stole our money and camera. When we informed the manager she acted really strange and was not willing to help us. Obviously it is a complot. So be warned: Naga staff is friendly in your face, but steals your stuff behind your back!
