Great gateway and excellent choice for those who travel with families or friends! Me and my family come here every year (3 years already) and every year this resort greets us in a same friendly way.
The location is great: private picturesque beach with white sand, spacious villas... If you are looking for a quiet yet entertaining vocation, this is your best choice. Staff in every outlet is very friendly and helpful, also try local "Lotus Spa", spa therapists are really great too! I work in a 5star property in Thailand myself, and trust me when I say that this resort is worth coming for.
Me and my family (mother and grandmother) will keep coming back here every year for sure!

We booked Samed Villa Resort based on the reviews and I have to say we were very pleased! The staff were great and the beach was beautiful. Our room was a ways back but it was clean and quiet. We ate all of our meals at the resort. The food way really good and affordable. The breakfast was great with a good variety. They had a large assortment of drinks, the coconut shake is fabulous. In the evenings they set up tables on the beach which is a beautiful setting with the lanterns in the tree. Really good pizza and desserts. There's a fire show in the evening and a disco a little further down the beach at the next resort. The ferry over takes about 45 minutes. We booked it through Malibu Tours. I wouldn't recommend them as they're a little unorganized and the boat back was quite small and uncomfortable. The resort can probably recommend a better company. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone. Great value for the price.

We stayed here for 3 nights in early November. The room was a sea view one and at the end of the resort. We requested here for a more quiet location and were given what we had requested. The neighbouring hotel had a disco but this did not disturb us in our room location. More than happy with the breakfasts and meals we had at the restaurant. The wifi could be a lot better - not too bad near the restaurant but it really struggled in the rooms.
Would be more than happy to stay here again.

They have there own beach infront of the property, and to my surprise everything is transported by boat either on samed villa's one speedboat or public water transport service.

After walking around and checking a few other restaurants out we always end up at the samed villa for their fresh and inexpensive menu. I was told the pizza and dessert menu was just introduced, and after trying them all I can say is they shouldnt be going anywhere any time soon. Amazing selection of cuisine from thai classics, italia thin crust pizza, fresh dessert, seafood bbqs to classic swiss cuisine.

Stayed in Superior Garden View Bungalow ( B-row) 7 nights in Oct/Nov 2013.
From beginning to end this was a great place to stay. Great and friendly staff, clean and tidy bungalows in concrete. More like a "real" house. Amazing garden. garden and beach really clean and well managed. Its at the end of the more busy beaches so still quite a lot of space to have some privacy. Food really nice also. Some might get a bit disturbed of the disco a bit further down on the beach which plays music from 22-03, but really not that bad and nothing that would make me stay away or not recommend this place. Have been 8 times to diffrent islands both major and minor but this place must be a good top 3. Not too touristy, not too backpackerish. Perfect Island close to Bangkok and nice opportunities for excurisons from the Island. Will defenetly go back to Koh Samet and for sure Samed Villa Resort.
Thanks to all staff for making our family trip special and memorable.

Last time we stayed here was in 2004. I have to admit: the area is a bit more crowded, but the resort itself is prettier. It is professionalized, but still with a Thai charm. Familyroom was excellent, kitchen was better than our memorie and the service was good. Kids, 12 and 14, loved the local ambiance. It is not a secluded quiet place when you're on the beach, but the resort itself is quiet at night. Make sure to be picked up their speedboat: it beats the ferry ride. A bit more expensive, but a lot more fun to get there.

We spent a weekend at Samed Villa at the end of September. Although it rained all weekend, the accommodation made up for it! The service was brilliant - staff were more than helpful and accommodating. We stayed in the family room - which is perfect if you are going away as a couple and two single friends. The breakfast was delicious and beach chairs are provided. The resort is off the main beach which means you can avoid the crowds if you are looking for peace and quiet! :) Meals can enjoyed at the resort's restaurant - which has seating set up on the shoreline. Food prices are affordable - far less expensive than what we were expecting - a great deal less than restaurant prices on the South islands. A wonderful resort all round! :)
