I went with a group of friends and had a really great time there! We stayed for 2 nights at the guest house and went on the full day trip on Saturday. In general the guest house is ok, clean and simple, just what we needed. Though there is no hot water so the morning showers are a bit of a pain. The service was very good, we got picked up and dropped in a van when arriving and departing and they were always very nice and helpful. The day tour is totally recommended! Our tour guide was very good, we went hiking and saw a waterfall and an elephant. He put a lot of effort on adapting to the group which was small (8 people) and did a really great job. In terms of price per night and for the tour I think it's very cheap and totally worth it.

We stayed two nights at the guest house, ate most of our meals there (cheap & good food), and did both the half and full day tours. The tours were fantastic and our guides did everything they could to give us the best experience possible. One of my favorite experiences in Thailand so far, and I can confidently say that had I gone with another tour group, my experience may not have been the same. Our guides were dedicated, spoke perfect english and knowledgable. All around a fantastic experience. Highly Recommended.

One of our group members returned here after visiting in 2008, and all three of us were more than satisfied with all aspects of Greenleaf Guesthouse. They picked us up free of charge from the bus station even after we got in pretty late at night.

We went on the full day tour the next day (1300 Baht per person) and our group size of 8 people was just right. Included in the price was the 400 Baht entrance fee for the park, a snack, drinks, lunch, vehicle and driver, and one very knowledgable tour guide. Our guide, Lek, was very enthusiastic and his well-trained eyes and ears could spot even the most well-hidden animal. He treated everything in the park with a great deal of respect, and one got the sense that he really enjoyed his work and wanted to share that passion with us. We got back to the guesthouse between 6 and 7 pm after leaving at 8am.

The food there was extraordinarily good, much better than we had expected and well within price range. The kitchen was clean and the food was delicious.

The double room costs 300 Baht per night and the bed and private bathroom were both nice and clean.

One last note about the staff- they made our trip to Khao Yai very enjoyable. They were very positive and provided help at any time needed. Thank you!

Probably the best service we received in our 2 months in Thailand! Picked up at the bus station for free, two great tours, food and drink served whenever we needed it. The rooms were very basic but equipped with everything you need. A little bit hot in them at night with just a fan but we did manage to sleep. The tours were great, really friendly guides who spoke some of the best English we'd heard from Thai people. Saw loads of wildlife, including snakes and elephants. Food was cheap and really really tasty, good portions too. They knew we had to get the last bus back to Bangkok on a Sunday night and managed to get us there on time (again for free)! Great service, recommended it to our friends who later stayed there and had a fab time :)

I stayed in the air-con hotel next door, but went to Khao Yai park with Greenleaf Tours & they were absolutely the best. Great guides, really passionate about the environment and animals there. The restaurant was excellent also & very inexpensive.

It is basic accommodation but we only paid 300 baht for a family of four per night and it is really about the tour experience.

A family of four, we stayed for two days and nights in a large room which was basic and clean. We were collected by the guesthouse for free from the station as we were doing the tours - given the price of the accommodation I am surprised other reviewers would expect a free pickup without a tour. The tours are what this place is all about and we were really impressed with the unbounded enthusiasm of our guides. we did the half day and the full day tours, which were really good fun. we were lucky on the full day tour to see a herd of over twenty elephants (three families) from afar. As well as a female elephant with her two calves up close. Our guide Lek seemed genuinely enthusiastic and seemed to really care about the wildlife. I disagree with the reviewer who didn't find this good value for money - if you think about the cost of entrance to the park, the petrol, a driver and a guide, basic food/refreshments for less than £35 per person for a day and a half worth of tours, which is what we paid (plus the free pickup and drop offs) it is difficult to complain.

As other reviewers have commented the guesthouse is on a busy main road and the restaurant is out the front but we felt this really added to the atmosphere which we loved - they seem to create a really friendly community feel. There was a really good choice of food with lots of vegetarian options, really good portion sizes and it was really delicious.

One tip, if you are staying towards the back, bring some ear plugs as there are some really noisy rooster on an adjoining property early in the morning.

My sister and I spent two nights here and did the half day tour then the full day tour at Khao Yai. I booked this easily directly through the guesthouse based on a friend's personal recommendation. We weren't disappointed, we expected the rooms to be basic and they were...but they were all we needed for our short stay and great to experience a simpler way of life.
The food cooked for us was EXCELLENT, cannot fault it!
The staff were friendly and helpful and the tour guides were brilliant, so kind and very good at explaining everything.
The tours are both worth going on, half day includes visiting the inside of the bat caves and introducing to a few creepy crawlies! The full day tour offers a great trek in the forest (suitable for me and I'm not that fit), waterfalls, wildlife, elephants (if you're lucky) lunch and snacks too, I LOVED it, despite it pouring with rain all day and my shoes were soaked through within 10minutes!!
Give this place a visit!
