We visited Coorg in 1st week of jan & had our booking at CM for four nights done in advance. As an afterthought, we extended our trip to 6 nights & couldnt get booking in CM for the other 2 nights. All thanks to tripadvisor, i found this homestay and stayed for 2 nights here.

The place belongs to Mr. Srihari, who has been in Madikeri for past 3yrs. Their hospitality deserves a big mention and they made us feel at home. On the downside, we, being a couple (only 2 people) were offered a crampy small room besides where they stay, on the first floor. (Guess their policy is to offer the ground floor rooms only to a bigger group of 4 or more people, which is understandable)

What makes me write this review is the friendliness & the ever helping nature of Mr. Srihari & Mrs. Latha, not only during out 2 night stay, but also during the other 4 nights, when Mr. Srihari made out an iterinary or us for our entire stay. Not only that, he was generous enough to find out a very good taxi driver for the local sight seeing (at lowest rates) & arranged for a coffee / spice plantation visit (at no extra cost). The hot food (pure veg only) served by Mr. Latha, deserves a special mention.

If the room quality (1st floor) can be ignored, everything is a plus at Sai Sadan homestay! Though this place is not very well known to locals & maybe a bit hard to find, Mr. Srihari is kind enough to escort you to his place from the Madikeri bus stand. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone, who wants a true coorgi experience, without the sho-shaa of a fancy hotel, but with extremely helpful & friendly hosts. Once again, thank you Mr. Srihari !

Room Tip: Opt for rooms on the ground floor only... Room on the 1st floor is very small !!

I stayed at Sai Sadan with my parents, wife & 1 yr old daughter during last week of Jan'13. The homestay is situated at very convenient place - at the same time away from the city. The rooms are spacious & comfortable. The best part of this homestay is the hospitality from Mr. & Mrs. Srihari. Srihari helped us is planning our sightseeing & that helped us in utilizing the 3 days in a nice-comfortable way. Mrs. Srihari made us feel at home wrt food preparation for our 1 yr kid. The coffee that we had was one of the best & the breakfast was very delicious.
This homestay has 24 hr hot water, Tea Pot, Water purifier & some small games (carrom board, chess etc). My one yr old kid enjoyed all the toys which were there & enjoyed every bit of the stay.
Overall it was a very good experience & we would love to visit this place again.

A veg homestay, welcomed by the family. 2 bedrooms on the same floor.
+: Very quiet, clean, good advice for visits, very convenient to have like a flat
-: Away from the center, if you want to go out for the night you need a tuktuk

My wife and I stayed one night at Sai-Sadan homestay in January 2013. Srihari was very helpful- he picked us up from Madikeri bus stand and took us to the homestay, helped us with our sightseeing plans and arranged a coffee plantation visit for us among other things. We received a home-cooked breakfast with tea in the morning.

The best part was that Srihari offered us the whole downstairs floor, we had ample room.

A minor detail/gripe- no TP in the restrooms and I did not notice until I really needed to use the restrooms; my bad I did not catch that ahead of time- I am sure that had I asked, I would have received. Luckily my wife had a bit of TP in her bag.

This is sort of like staying in a B&B since it is part of an actual family home. Very down to earth, homely environment. Emphasis on cleanliness and basic accomodations.

Overall- quite good stay!

It was a cozy stay in this homestay with my husband. The owners are very very hospitable and sweet. They treat you like their family members. They will guide you for the excursions also very well. Value for money definitely, considering that its well within Madikeri city limits:) Would like to visit again .

My friend Gautami and I stayed at Sai Sadan Homestay in Madikeri and we had a really amazing time there! We were there for 6 days and it didn't look like we were in a different place- we felt at home! Srihari Sir and Latha Aunty helped us with all the logistics of our trip- sight seeing, trekking, transport, everything! It was easy to go to the city centre from there and we got around the place quite easily once we understood the directions. Our stay was made even better with the lovely food that Latha Aunty prepared for us! Since we were just two girls travelling alone, Srihari Sir and Latha Aunty made sure that we know the place around and we do not get misguided unknowingly and advised us well on how to go about the trip safely! Sai Sadan Homestay is truly a home away from home! We had been planning a trip to Coorg since a long time and we found the perfect place to stay for our holiday which made our trip very comfortable. Thanks a lot to Srihari Sir and Latha Aunty for everything again! :) - Pooja and Gautami, Mumbai
