“Excellent place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 6, 2014

This is one place which I would recommend travelers to visit this place. It has good ambiance with good parking facilities, good food and bar facility. You can also park and dine. I have been going to this place almost from 20 years with its old world charm and nearby to the city, hardly a kilometer drive from the heart of city. I first traveled with friends and I have traveled with my wife and family. I am hooked to this place. Great one.

“Old Favorite”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2014

Never seem to get enough of the food every time in Mercara, it is authentic coorg cuisine and has been around for years. Personal favorites are the chicken/mutton fry, kheema ball curry with white rice simple and delicious, kheema dosa in the evenings are just the best, usually call and book them in when i am on the road. It is a really nice spot to enjoy a drink and watch the mist move over the valley.

“Only Legacy... nothing else! :(”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 12, 2014

Had fond memories of this place from 2010, when food was good and the service, excellent. So, when we landed in Madikeri on the 4th of May, this was the restaurant of choice for lunch. All the way from Abbey falls to this restaurant, I was singing paeans of this place to my wife and kiddo.. Little did I expect the terrible fate that awaited us...

Gobi Manchurian was good, but rest of the stuff just clouded the experience. My kiddo exclaimed that the egg fried rice has a doggy smell. I gently rebuked her for nitpicking and to prove my point, put it in my mouth only to spit it out.... It of course was smelling like a wet dog!!! Yuck

Rotis were hard.... Veg kaDai was watery version of koorma...

Exited the restaurant utterly disappointed and a rumbling stomach, bought some fruits in the town and satiated the hunger pangs...

I just hope the management wakes up and pulls their socks up..... Else it is going to be a downward spiral for this once great place....
