“Good exercise, nice views”
Reviewed May 9, 2013

In Nantong itself, this is the best daytime attraction. (In the evening, try a boat ride on the canal and see the lights.)

There are many steps to the top of the "mountain", quite steep. Very good exercise to walk up. Good views of Nantong city, and also out to the water where you can see the ships. Go on a day when the air quality is not too unhealthy, since you will be breathing heavy from the walk up, and will want clear views from the observation decks.

The temple is reasonably nice, though you can't get very good pictures of it from the top because you will be very close and looking straight up. But inside there were monks dressed in their gold colored robes, keeping a steady rhythm on a drum while people kneeled for a prayer.

At the bottom of the mountain, there is an area with a creek and also a large statue of a wolf that people were climbing up onto to get pictures taken.

“It's more of a hill then a mountain!”
Reviewed December 4, 2012

Wolf mountain is more of a hill, it's a nice walk up, not too long, but slightly steep. Not a great attraction but an attraction none the less. A pleasent view up top and a few temples, seems kind of pointless if you are not budhist or anything. I was for the most part dissapointed with the ammount of money i paid for wolf mountain.

“Interesting visit”
Reviewed November 11, 2012

If this is the only temple you see in China, then it's pretty wonderful. But if you plan seeing any others, it's very meh...
Located on the edge of Nantong, it's a cute little mountain, with a nice temple on the summit. The walk up, while tiring, is not that difficult. You can get to the top in under 30 minutes at a leisurely pace.
There are a few lookouts on the way up. Some give you a nice view of an industrial section of Nantong, some give you views of the Yangtze RIver, all give you a view of the hundreds of cranes building new structures throughout the city.
The temple is actually pretty nice. The little courtyard before the main temple, with the statue of baby buddha in a pond is cute. They say if you throw a coin into his little basket, you will have a child.
All in all, a nice temple, but very average.
